I on-again-off-again dye my hair, and I'm a writer, so I suppose I fit the stereotype. Letting it grow out now, though.
Does your hair color match your personality?

The problem is, throughout time, because opinions of that have changed soooo much, I have no idea what the stereotypes are! I spent quite a bit of time looking it up and found recent stereotypes constantly still contradict one an other!
Men with less than the "usual" amounts of hair used to be seen as a negative thing, but now, it's being looked at as the sexy, rogue tough guy thing! So...let's just go with that and say you don't have a choice in the matter on that one, it just applies! Besides, we all know that fits you

i do & i don't. i'm brunette (& proudly so) & i some of those things, but i'm also fun, bubbly, & can be passionate.

I dye my hair strange colours most of the time. I like to think I'm creative and artistic. So I guess I fit. Naturally blonde/brown. And I kinda fit the brown. So mayhaps.

I have brown hair... I guess I fit..

I'm a natural brunette, and I fit some of the stereotype aspects, but not all. I am down to earth, stable and intelligent, but I am fiery as hell, stubborn and passionate also. My man also says I am demure in public. I guess I am a mix, as are most people I suppose! That's the beauty of people! (This has been a fun thread to read. )

I'm not exactly sure what the stereotype for brunettes are? Lol. I know blonde is dumb, but what's brunette? I have super rich brunette with white-lights and I'm really bold, energetic, bright and colorful, playful, etc. I'm not sure if that fits the stereotype or not.

I dyed my hair a somewhat unnatural yet natural looking red about two years ago. It's really similar to this actress off of Nickelodeon (yes, I have no life on fridays) called Cat Valentine on Victorious. I don't really like the show, but I babysit some kids on Fridays and they do.
I saw the haircolor, and it wasn't something I copied. I had meant to dye my hair that color years ago but never had the chance because of my particular workplace. I finalyl said hell with it and went and got my hair done. It was the best choice I ever made. I feel like I'm finally back in my skin.
My personality changes all the time. I don't fit one specific personality. Some days I am shy, and other days I'm outgoing as if I ruled the world. Some days I could talk for hours, and other days I prefer it be silent while I work or paint or walk the dogs. Sometimes I have a temper, other times I keep my mouth shut and blow it off. I'm definitely my own person.

She has red hair and she's definitely a freak. It also resembles her lively personality

I fit my "brunette" type, but the"dumb" thing is SO silly as my own BLOND daughter (studying to be a plastic surgeon) and her other BLOND collegues would put that sillyness to shame. She even dyed her hair brown once, in college....before a big test "to get taken more serious". She sure does not buy into that crazy notion now.

So we all know the typical stereotypes about hair colors, but I thought I would do some "research" and see how many of you think that your personality, temperament, attitude and general outlook on life. So, I've compiled a list of the 3 most common stereotypes for NATURAL hair color, but I also thought it would be fun to throw in a stereotype not often talked about in hair color, but one that IS out there!
Brunettes: Stable, Down-to-Earth, Elegant, Intelligent
Blondes: Young, Fun, Bubbly... and Dumb
Redhead: Passionate, Fiery, Femme Fatale
Dyed Hair (blues, greens, etc): Mysterious, Artistic, Fun, Creative
I did choose to keep voting public, although I know some are offended by the stereotypes in hair colors, but this is just for fun! If you would like to elaborate, or give a more detailed response feel free! And of course it is at your discretion to chose a yes or no to whether you fit the stereotype if you don't meet all or most of the "stereotypical" assumptions of your hair color! less

The only hair color..personality association I have found, over my years of life, to be somewhat true, is that all my redhead cousins and friends are indeed quick tempered.
Great, fun question. Thanks.

I went though that years ago...but after a whie, isn't it destroying the quality of your hair...including stessing the root, and making hair grow out "unhealthy"? I understand your style, but be careful.....you could get some bad surprises later on. I did.

We have a knock down, drag out beautiful woman friend with JET BLACK hair. Always thought it was fake color...TOO black. Finally, after twenty three years of friendship, I told her, and she not only got a great laugh....since she informed me she had "never ever used hair dye", but when I finally met her mom and sister, oh my.....they had it too!!!!!

I fit more into the dyed hair characteristics and I have brown hair.

I find it interesting how many brunettes as opposed to any other hair color there are!!!
10/17/2011
I'm a brunette that likes to have fun, smart (assed), loves tattoos and piercings, can throw down with the best, and generally just me... is that the sterotype?
10/17/2011
Brunettes-It somewhat fits. I wish I could dye my heair pink.

I'm nice as long as you don't piss me off, though.

I change my hair color seasonally. It's almost red season!
10/18/2011
I totally match the stereotype
10/18/2011
I have brown hair and I do like to think I'm intelligent but I'm not any of the other things. I'd have my hair pink or red ideally but can't because of work. I'm not that creative though so I wouldn't fit that either. I'm just me.
10/18/2011
I was a brunette, yes I fit most of the stereotype. However, I have not seen my real hair color (excepting gray roots) in about 20 years, so yes I fit my dyed stereotype as well. Depends on what color I am!!

Actually, many African American, Asian and Native American and Latino people have true black hair. Sleek black hair (as in Asians, some Latinos and Native Americans) often has a blue cast to it, while curly black hair is simply black. There are even some Irish with black hair.

But technically there is no such thing as "black" hair it's just really dark brown.

Well, my hair is currently dyed red, and it suits me pretty well. The calm elegance often attributed to brunettes doesn't describe me.
10/18/2011
I am a brunette and I do fit the stereotype. Down to earth and intelligent and all that. I can be feisty though.
10/18/2011
I'm a brunette and I somewhat agree with my stereotypes I'm intellegent and down to earth but i wouldn't really consider myself elegant or stable and i feel like i fit with dyed hair with the creative and arty and fun stereotype but i've never dyed my hair

My hair changes a lot. Anything from light brown to dark brown with natural red streaks. I'd say it matches my personality quite nicely.
10/18/2011
I was quite blond as a kid but my hair became darker going to light brown as I got older. Now I'm salt and pepper grey on the sides but my beard is nearly all white. From the lyrics of The Bard of Armagh, "...merry hearted boys make the best of old men." I like to think that fits me.
10/18/2011
As a brunette, I generally match my stereotype. I wish I was allowed to dye my hair some bright colors though!
