Does the word "PUSSY" offend you, even in the slightest, when used in the text of a forum question?

Contributor: Martiniman Martiniman
In a question I submitted on the same day as this question, I had written the word pussy into the question, then replaced it with the word vagina. I know vagina is the proper word, but pussy seems to fit better, with vagina seeming to clinical. However, I replaced pussy with vagina because I didn't want to offend any of you magnificent ladies.

So my question is this...

If you read the word "pussy" in a forum question, are you at all offended, even in the slightest?

Example: How old were you when you first penetrated your pussy with a toy?

I don't get upset, but it does have a connotation, at the very least, of just being within a more sexual AND informal context than 'vagina'.

It doesn't offend me but I think it has a more outrightly sexual connotation than the word 'vagina'

Personally, and this is just my feeling on it, mind you, I don't like it. The word feels...I don't know. Dirty in a bad way? Like it's crude for the sake of being crude. But that's just me. I don't care if other people use it, but I don't.

It depends on how it's being used. I generally don't mind it, but it annoys me when people tell their friends to "stop being such a pussy" about something. :/ I don't mind it in a sexual context.

I think* (I could be wrong) that is actually an extension of 'scared-y cat' and is not really a reference to the vagina.

I don't mind it. I usually end up using it in a dirty way with my partner

Some connotations:
Cat
As vulgar slang, the vulva or vagina
Pejoratively, a coward or weakling as an insult in general
In the Somalian language, it is also referred to as Waiz.

So I suppose offense comes from what angle you want to look at it and what language derivations you are looking at. Certain latin words refer more to the female while others refer to the insult.

I wouldn't say it offends me, no. The way I'm used to hearing the word used though, isn't usually the most lovely kind of language, but I don't think anything of it here. Besides, it's just the forums. I'm not that picky. Lol.

I feel the same way. It's strange and I don't know why. The word doesn't offend me, I just find it kind of a yucky, gross word.

Funnily enough, I'd rather use/hear the c-word than the word pussy. Pussy just sounds kind of dirty or something.

I don't know, it's really weird and hard to articulate. I don't think there are many people who feel similarly, but that's ok!
