Does plastic harm?

Contributor: Tart Tart
I've been keeping my toys in ziploc plastic bags and I am curious if that could "ruin" my toys. I know that toys being together in the same bag touching can be harmful for certain materials but maybe the material of the bag can damage as well?

I am purchasing a caboodle to keep my toys in and that is made of a hard plastic. I am hoping that the hard plastic will be better and will be easier to clean than cloth bags or the toy boxes available for sale on EF.

I am just curious if ziploc bags are safe, and if a hard plastic container would be better.

We've kept a lot of our toys in plastic bags with no issues before. Unless the bag is like...really hot and melts to the toy, you should be fine. We also have some in hard plastic containers too, so it's really an either/or situation. The only reason I can think to avoid storing in plastic bags is if you had the scent of a toy. It won't have a chance to air out and will be really strong when straight out of the bag.

I think most bags are polyethylene, which shouldn't damage most toy materials.

We've used Ziploc bags to store all kinds of toys in and never had a problem with any of them. We've never tried any of the hard plastic boxes you mentioned though.

I use Ziploc bags for my Ryder butt plug and some other toys. I guess that they would be safe, but personally I don't really know. I'm thinking though, that you can trust the three experts above me.

You can do almost anything to silicone and it will be alright, same goes for glass and metal. Jelly is the touchiest material, followed by TPR.

I keep my toys in zip lock bags with no issues as of yet. *shrugs* I don't see why not.

Some people worry about chemicals in plastic food containers. Are Ziploc bags any different?
