It was RAINY all day today, but we had friends coming over and had planned on a cookout. We all laughed and decided, a COOKOUT it was going to be!!! We had the grill outside, under the awning of the house, just out of reach of the POURING rain, and a great picnic table layout in the garage with the door open. It was actually kind of neat having a nice, dry, bug free outdoor experience, watching the rain...tunes playing on the radio, and good friends, good food...and DRY!!! No hot, sweaty conditions!!! SO....does it have to be NICE AND DRY out for YOU to enjoy an OUTDOOR COOKOUT????
Does it have to be NICE OUT, for you to COOK OUT?

We've done this before, grilling even in the dead of winter with snow flying. It's always fun to do it that way.

Its fun to make the best of any situation. And grilled food is the best food!

Grilling is swaggin', no matter the weather.

I don't like rain falling on my grill
Or worse, wind blowing smoke directly in my face

well, we live in an apartment so we don't cook outside.. but my dad will bbq even if there is snow on the ground lol

I have a nice BBQ, and do not want it getting soaking wet. I take the cover off when we have some dry days. If its raining, we cook inside.

i voted for other, only because i grill out anytime. rain, snow, whatever...but we dont have any awnings at our house, so the grill is all out in the elements. the only time id rather not grill is when its really windy, because i use wood and its really dry all year round

I've been outside with an umbrella and raincoat to cook in the rain. If I want to grill, I'm going to grill. We have a beautiful covered back patio that is screened in and bordered with lots of christmas lights, so even in the middle of winter, it feels warm and inviting. There have been many hours of conversation and many bottles of wine opened in that room. Rain or shine, I take advantage of it.
I just wish the poor grill could be covered during while I'm cooking during rainy times. Part of my home extends over the porch, so it's perfect for storing my grill out of the elements, but it isn't tall enough to cook beneath.

My in-laws have cooked Easter dinner outside in the pouring rain, but I personally don't cook when it's raining. I grilled yesterday and it was in the 60's here in Arkansas.

I don't grill out, but sometimes my mom does. I wouldn't mind being under a covering.

The only time it's never been done in my family is when it's windy - no point since the fire keeps blowing out. But it's been done in snow when we lived in Kansas City (and my ex did it in 2 degrees with three feet of snow in Montana a couple of times), and when it's drizzly here in Florida (the hard downpours last only a few minutes, so we can wait).

We grill about 5 times a week when the weather is warm. It's not always sunny and nice out though, so we do grill in the rain at times. If it's pouring outside though, we cook inside. A light-moderate rain won't keep us away! Winter grilling is another story, no way!
