I cuss like a sailor in certain situations, particularly when I'm in a setting I'm comfortable with. My Grandmother hates cussing, and will kick people out of her house for doing it, yet my dad, her son cusses like I do. What is your opinion on cussing?
Does cussing offend you, are you neutral towards it, or do you cuss?

I try not to curse in front of elderly people and children but usually I'm pretty free with my words. I wish I didn't curse as much as I do, but a tiger can't change it's stripes overnight.

I cuss like a fucking sailor.
Like jenasaisquoi I try not to offend old folks, or corrupt the youth. Much.

When I'm drinking my cussing gets worse. I try not to in public but sometimes it comes out.

I say some things, but not often. I don't get offended unless someone is saying it in front of my children. There's no need for that and it bothers me when people can't hold their tongues when kids are around.

I got a potty mouth, but I know how to control it, as I won't cuss in front of my Dad's side of my family, my niece or nephew and try not to use the big words around my parents. (I've only dropped the F-bomb in front of my mother once because I was pissed. Not at her, though.)

I use them sometimes and if not I will switch it and say something else. I only really swear when I am ticked off and it takes a lot to make me mad. I don't like when people have potty mouths where everything is a sentence with a swear in it.

I curse mainly to my self or when i get upset. But the way some ppl I work with cuss it really offends me. Especailly if it is children.

It really depends on the situation, but typically I cuss when emphasis is needed. If over done it just makes it sound like one has a small mind.

Cursing doesn't bother me or anything. I try not to use them very often though since I don't want to offend others.

I fucking voted.
04/06/2013
I curse a bit, but I try to be careful around people who'd be offended. It's quite effective at being therapeutic
04/06/2013
I swear like a sailor. Not usually around family or kids though. I mostly do it around my husband. Especially in the bedroom.
04/06/2013
Depending on who I'm with or where I am, I tend to curse a lot, but when I'm out at the store I also can't be out for 5 minutes without hearing someone curse a lot, but that's also because I live in Baltimore. I'm not sure most people here can hold a conversation without adding in some swear words lol

I try to control my cussing - I still do it more than I'd like. Sometimes I am offended - which reminds me that need to be more careful.

I'm a girl and I cuss when I'm not at work. I try not to, but I'm used to it.
04/07/2013
I don't like it. It's rude. Not to mention I feel like a lot of cussing happens because people can't express themselves properly.
04/07/2013
I'm not at all offended by it, I usually don't even notice when I hear it. But I don't swear much myself. I definitely don't around my family. But I'll let one slip now and again with friends.
04/07/2013
I use curse words but try not too. I am offended when I hear them in public because of the children who are hearing them
04/07/2013
I regularly use vulgar language. I did not have a problem with my child using mild explicative language when he was young either. However, his first or second grade teacher did. The teacher was relatively perplexed since my son regularly demonstrated that he also had a rather large vocabulary of non vulgar language as well... LOL!

I'm neutral towards cursing...I sometimes do.
04/07/2013
Growing up I never really cussed and I still very rarely cuss. If I do, someone makes a big deal out of it and it gets annoying. But cussing doesn't bother me.
04/07/2013
I tend to use words like "shit" and "fuck" often, which are words while i'm trying to use less, do not bother me. However other "bad words" like slut, whore, bitch, pussy, and cunt i don't tend to tolerate if its used in a derogatory way when talking about a women/person as i feel those are words ment to be reclaimed by women and not hold a negative context toward anyone as its misogynist and futures girl hate as well as the idea that women/people with a vagina are lesser or weak.
04/07/2013
I don't really cuss... I'm not really offended when people do.... But I can tell you the only person that I get offended by when they swear.. is my sister.. She sounds so rude & nasty with the words that come out of her mouth.

I totally curse whenever I want.

I was reminded earlier today that standards are different depending on location. Here in NJ, it's ridiculously common for even little old ladies to drop the f-bomb casually; nobody even bats an eye. I heard this in line today (Sunday!) at the local deli: "You guys make a great fucking sandwich!" She was AT LEAST 70.
Down South, where I grew up, I've heard guys in their 20s say things like "h-e double hockey sticks" because they couldn't bring themselves to say the word "hell". Go figure.

I swear all the time, and it doesn't bother me at all when other people do. But I always keep in mind who I'm talking to and know when I should watch my language.
04/08/2013
I curse like a sailor and have done so since I was in high school, it doesn't offend me at all. In fact I've never met anyone who was actually offended by it except elderly folks.

That's pretty accurate I'd say. It doesn't get more southern than Georgia, and here, there's more of a generation gap between young adults and the elderly folk. You RARELY hear anyone over the agar of 60 cuss, but most teens and 20-something's I know cuss very casually.
