I was running through the airport the other day and there was a shoeshine stand, with not one, but two men doing professional shoe shines.

I honestly didn't know these things were still around.

There were some customers there. However, I wonder, how many people use this kind of service?

Do you ever use a professional to shine your shoes?

I read an erotica story (I think it was in one of the Best Women's Erotica books, maybe?) about a woman and an attractive shoe shiner. It was actually a pretty hot story and made me want to get my shoes shined one day.

But no, I've always just shined my own shoes at home.

My previous employer had several small businesses at headquarters for the convenience of everyone there. Of course we had around six thousand people working in that building.
There was the shoeshine guy as well as a barber/salon and a laundry business who would pick up and deliver to my cube. We had a gym (with laundry service) various restaurants and a coffee shop.

No, I have never used one. I have nice dress shoes, but do not wear them very often. And when they need to be shined, I just do it at home. I guess if I wore them every day and needed to look professional, I would have them shined by a pro every now and then.

I don't own any shoes that could be shined honestly. Most of my shoes are sneakers. If I did have some I suppose every now and then I'd consider taking them to a pro.

I guess I do, but not really. When I need a pair of shoes shined, I send them with my brother, who has a shoe-shine guy in his office building and they get shined then.

It has been several years since I've had my shoes shined by a professional, but then again it has been a couple of years since I have worn shoes that require shining often enough to require shining.
