This might bring some interesting answers. I'm one of those people that doesn't even own cable or satellite TV, and my husband and I only have it for games and movies. We think television warps intelligence and is a waste of time, but don't be offended-that's our opinion on it. Just wondering-who watches television, and who doesn't.
Do you watch Television?

We don't have cable or satellite right now, so no. I don't watch TV in that sense. However, I do keep up with a couple shows I love (NCIS, Lie to Me and Criminal Minds) online
If we had satellite/cable we'd watch a little tv, but only specific programs. Otherwise we like to have cartoons on in the background to help us sleep.

There are a couple shows I like. Otherwise it's for video games, WiiFlix, and DVD's.

I'm a television freak, well somewhat. I love HBO series and Showtime series, those are the only things I really take time to watch. I also like Teen Mom, and baby shows on TLC and the Discovery Channel.

I don't have any form of TV or cable anymore since I moved and cannot afford it. Though I some times catch a glimpse of it at work in the employee lounge.
Sometimes I miss it, but sometimes I'm grateful that I'm not sitting on my ass all day watching mind numbing programs.

The only tv show I watch is Dexter.

I watch it... unfortunately, unless it's a DVRed show, I'm probably watching Nick Jr. (although Yo Gabba Gabba is awesome). Pfft... kids.

We will watch certain tv shows and sporting events, but for the most part we don't watch tv.

I think the internet is more of a time waster but honestly any of these electronic entertainment devices are as well and we choose where we want to spend out time.

I don't game at all, I do watch specific shows like Dexter, True Blood, crime shows, lots of movies. I don't watch it every day but I am on my computer every day and I kinda have a love/hate relationship with that.

Television is just like anything else -- there's a lot of crap, but there's also plenty of good stuff if you take the time to find it. Some television shows feature excellent writing and solid acting, and sometimes the networks accidentally forget to cancel them.

I really hate television. We don't watch it here at our home. However, at work, I end up watching it due to having nothing better to do.

The only times I have sat down to watch current TV in over 5 years is when at hotels (Maybe twice a year), and while I am (trying to) visit my parents. I do occasionally watch Japanese animation on the internet, though, so maybe I do watch TV? It's a weird situation.
I started hating the feel of TV when I was in high school (around the beginning of the reality TV boom...). For a while, I got so much done then when I kept the TV off. But the internet ate up more and more of my time. But I still learn more from the internet than I would watching TV, despite the supposedly "educational" programming. We like watching that kind of programming at hotels, but the last two times, the History Channel didn't have history on it.
When I'm exposed to TV now, it makes me nervous. There is something about current trends in editing? The pace is frantic feeling. I have been hearing of some truly great shows from people whose tastes are similar to mine. But I get a glimpse and the acting bothers me. Not that it is bad, but the style makes me uncomfortable. And what is shown is shocking to me--I had no idea some things were allowed on TV now! I'm a fossil.
Not watching TV isolates me and I'm already a pretty isolated person due to a lot of my interests. But that's OK. This is just how I want to do things.

I never watch TV on a TV. Hell, I'm in college, I don't want to pay for that crap, plus I don't have time. During breaks though, I sometimes lounge around. I'm more of a film buff :]
10/31/2010
I only really watch tv when its around. At school, I am generally too lazy to hook up the tv so I end up watching netflix movies on my computer.
10/31/2010
I watch it some, mostly movies and a few shows we like to watch. I think I watch my lap-top more though.
10/31/2010
I didn't watch TV for years. Then I started watching things on Hulu like a year or so ago. I still do that when I go to sleep. I have a TV but it's rarely ever on.
10/31/2010
I love TV for those moments where I want to enjoy something but I'm too tired to read a book. Now that I'm in college I don't have much time, but I still watch Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Family Guy, and the Simpsons. And Doctor Who, but I'm pretty behind in that. It's nice to not have to think about anything sometimes

I only really watch TV on Mondays for two shows I watch, and I watch Netflix the rest of the time...

I watch "TV" online or via Netflix DVDs. We're only into 4 or 5 shows total though.

I watch shows/movies on Netflix. The only show I watch on TV is the new episodes of South Park. I just can't stand watching the TV. I prefer watching on my MacBook.

I watch way to much tv. I am watching it right now on my desktop.

I watch tv but mostly i watch "tv" online via my laptop and even when i watch the actual TV it is on demand not live.

I watch A LOT of tv. I watch it when I'm at home if I'm not doing something else and frequently have it on for background when I am. I watch it at work almost constantly (we have it in our computers because we are sitting at our desk for long periods of down time, especially in the winter).

Okay, I guess I am really in the minority here, but we watch TV and enjoy it. We have several shows we watch religiously, Grey's Anatomy, True Blood on HBO, Criminal Minds, House mainly. We do Netflix for sure, but sometimes we rent the entire series of a show. Watched all of Queer As Folk, Sex And The City, The L Word and we are currently working our way through Farscape.
So if this makes me a social outcast, so be it. I do read big books and do other things, but I like TV!

I don't think television warps your mind at all. I spend most my time watching History/Discovery and I find I learn quite a bit of interesting tid bits. Makes entertaining guests easier when you have fascinating tid bits.
However if all your watching is celeb/reality TV than yes...your brain is being rotted.
