The number of people that use products to whiten their teeth has grown so much over the years. Do you use them?

It's not that I don't like them but I'm allergic to a lot of them. I have to use prescription tooth paste as it is.

I think blazing white teeth look unnatural and a little creepy.
Adult teeth are naturally not as white as baby teeth. I'd rather have healthy teeth than be able to help land airplanes with them.

No, I have very sensitive teeth and whiteners only hurt and break down my enamel more.
12/03/2011
No, would like to give it a try though.

I tried it once, and it hurt my teeth really bad. :[

i tried it once, but didn't see too much of a difference.

The sad thing is that a large majority of toothpastes now contain whiteners. I don't like these as I have senstitive teeth and even small amounts hurt.
12/03/2011
I don't use any whiteners besides what my normal brand of toothpaste has in it's formula.

Don't need too. Just use toothpaste. I keep my teeth all Na-tur-al!

My toothpaste has it.

I tried the white strips once, as an experiment, and they caused me such intense pain (the nerves within the teeth) that I never used them again.
Just as an aside, we did an experiment at work where we each (four of us) created monocultures of our oral bacteria (and then identified them) and tested the efficacy of everyone's toothpaste in inhibiting biofilm formation (biofilms are what you would consider plaque... what rots your teeth). For every brand we tested, the whitening formulas (often with hydrogen peroxide as the active ingredient) were the least effective in preventing biofilm formation.

My dentist had an offer where new patients got free whitening, so I have some bleaching trays. I've used them twice (for a week at a time, not individual uses) but I think the last time was last winter, so it's been a while. Maybe I'll do it again over my Christmas break. It's a bit of a hassle when I'm busy.

i did use the crest whitestrips for sensitive teeth - they did work. not to the extent of the regular because the sensitive wasn't as strong. but i use the crest 3d whitening toothpaste and that keeps everything clean and shiny - and advanced listerine plus

That's interesting, and not surprising. Thanks for sharing!

My Mom used to work as a dentist (it was her first education), so she's quite aware of these products and always recommends me to stay away from them. I have rather sensitive teeth and don't want to damage my enamel.
12/04/2011
Nope. My teeth are white enough.
12/04/2011
No, they can damage the enamel on your teeth.

I don't use any whitening tooth paste, Just normal!

My toothpaste has a whitening already in it, but that's not why I use it. I don't use other whitening products.

I've used them before like right before I got married, but not recently. I try to buy really nice electric toothbrushes that remove all junk and sometimes use whitening toothpaste.
