Okay, for some this may sound silly, but it's an honest question. I fly about 60 days a year. Business or pleasure. Lately, I am on flights next to people...adults, who say "oh...this is my first flight ever"!!!???

Airfare is LESS then a train ticket or bus ticket in some markets. Airlines are ten times safer then driving. YES...flying is a hassle and you get treated like cattle (one major airline just announced...NO KIDDING....that they want to create "MORE NARROW SEATING" on their planes (I guess we will be sitting in each others laps?)

Anyway, my simple question.

HAVE YOU FLOWN IN AN AIRLINER BEFORE? (If you answer "NO", please feel free to elaborate on HOW you get from point A to point B if they are not close to each other???

I have, but rarely. I only travel by air for very far away trips. I usually stick to surrounding states when traveling so it's cheaper for me to go by train. I also have an issue that our closest airport is very far away (hours and hard to find) while the train station is only 15 minutes away.

Ive never been on an airplane but i would if it was over seas or across country. I only travel to california and thats only a 3 hr drive. And its much cheaper. 3 adults and 3 pets would be very expensive by air.

I first flew at two and a half months. I grew up (and still live) in a remote area, so flying has been my only option for travel most of my life. To get to my hometown, to where I currently live, it takes 5 flights over 2 days.

I don't fly nearly as much as you but I have been flying since I was a child and definitely fly every few years at least. I hate it, though. It has gotten increasingly miserable in the past 10 years. Anywhere that takes less than 10-15 hours to drive to? I'd rather drive.

I fly internationally a few times a year now.. I was about 24 when I flew for the first time, though.

I don't really enjoy flying -- TSA is a pain in the ass, and the flights are never really comfortable -- but it's the only way I can get to Europe. Well, I guess I could take a cruise, but I don't have that kind of time.
