I burn. Sometimes, if I get burnt badly enough, it will turn to tan later, but usually I just turn pink, and then the pink fades back to pale.
Do you tan or burn?

I burn unmercifully

I burn then tan everytime I get any sort of sun in the summer. My husband burns and blisters badly. We learned that one vacation in Disney, with sunblock!

I think it is almost impossible for me to burn!!! When I was a teenager I would lay out for days on end slathered in coconut oil (those were the days ) I pretty much never use sun block now, but do forego the oil. I am Caucasian, but by the end of the summer no one would ever guess that. My two daughters are the same way, but my poor son takes after his daddy, he burns no matter what you do!!

I always put on sunscreen and I still burn the first of the summer but as the summer goes on, I tan pretty good. I had a pre cancerous mold removed so I take precautions but I love being outside in the summer!

burn

I'm very very German and very very White. I burn within minutes of sun exposure and even burn through windows. Blah!

I'm like you, slightly pink for a day, then turns light brown.

If I have an SPF 50+ I might tan, or I might burn. If I spend a lot of time outside, eventually I stop burning and start tanning, but that's if I spend 2+ hours outside on a daily basis. I try to always just put on my sunscreen. I have tattoos and I hate the idea of them getting too faded by sun exposure. They're too damn expensive.

Oh I used to burn quite badly. Bad enough that one could tell the demarcation line of exposed and covered not just by the color but I'd be swollen just above where my shoes covered my feet.

Burn on the face, tan everywhere else. I've been outside a lot the last two weeks and I have a very awkward farmer's tan.
05/29/2012
I typicaly burn the first time I'm out for a long period in the summer but then tan over.
05/29/2012
It depends entirely on how long my skin gets exposed to the sun and on if I put on sunblock.
Most of the time I'm not outside during the day long enough to burn so it gradually builds into a mild tan.

I tan pretty good but my partner burns so bad. Last summer his shoulders were completely covered in boils. He had to sleep sitting up on the couch in front of the AC for a week.

Burn! I got severe sunburn last summer on my shins. I was reading a book on a lounger. I could barely walk for 4-5 days, the pain was so unbearable. Never again!

I usually tan

I burn, but then after a week it'll turn into a tan

I'm so pale I'm almost clear so I do nothing but burn if I don't wear sunblock, which doesn't happen often. I mostly try to stay out of the sun if at all possible but I'll use a ton of sunblock if I can't avoid it.

I burn, then tan.
06/02/2012
I tan but I wish I didn't. I like being pale!

I always burn even with sunblock.

I burn. I don't even bother trying to tan.
