I have vitamins I mean to take, but I usually don't. And more recently I actually spoke to my doctor about it and he said as long as your diet is rich enough in all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs, then daily vitamins aren't particularly necessary.
Furthermore, there have been several studies on how the vitamins and supplements that contain megadoses (10-100 times the daily recommended dose) can be really bad for you.
Generally, I think if you're healthy, exercise, eat well, get regular sun light, etc, and don't already have some sort of deficiency naturally (my mother and best friend both have iron deficiency, for example) then loading up on extras isn't really necessary.

My list: Super B complex, vitamin D3, Fish Oil, Garlic supplement, and Damiana leave capsule. I also drink carrot juice for vitamin A and beta-carotene, 100% cranberry/blueberry/bl ackberry juice for vitamin C, lutein (vision health), and prevention of bladder infections. I know it's healthier to eat the real fruit/vegetable rather than just drinking juices, but I'm just too busy for that.

I get your point about those megadoses. I always check the label, making sure the dosage match my body's requirement before I bring it home.

It's highly variable.

I take a multivitamin, potassium (though I consider that one a medication as I have a deficiency and have to get a prescription for it), probiotics, and sometimes I drink emergen-c. I don't think I need the vitamin C, but I like how it tastes so I drink it most days and I've heard you can't overdose on vitamin C.
I've tracked my nutrients using diet trackers before and it's become clear to me that I'm just not going to be able to consistently get all my nutrients, so I do think it's a good idea to take them.

I do not, but I know I should. I have a terrible diet of mostly processed foods with little nutrients.

i try to take a woman's multivitamin every day, then a vitamin A+D (good for skin and eyesight!)

I don't take vitamins daily, although I occasionally take a multivitamin. Not more than once a week though.
12/02/2011
I used to take between 5 and 10 a day, but now I rarely remember to take my multivitamin. On average, I take Alive! women's energy, fish oil, and ginseng daily.
