I don't really take anything.
Do you take anything from motels/hotels? (private poll)

We used to have to send housekeeping to replace the batteries in the remotes all the time, because people would take them.
I like to bring the shampoo bottles home, wash them out, and use them for my own products when I travel!

Soap, shampoo, and coffee.

I take shampoo/conditioner and notepads/pens. In the case of the shampoo/conditioner, if you don't take it, it will be thrown away and replaced fresh for the next guest.
10/27/2011
I take the shampoo's and conditioners to use when I travel (at least 3 overnights a week), and when I am home. I will occasionally take a soap, because some hotels I go into don't even have that in the room. I occasionally stay at one hotel that gives toothpaste, and I will take that as well.
10/27/2011
I take soap, conditioner, shamp oo, and sometimes teabags. If Ior my Significant Other is paying out the ass for a room I'm staying one night in, I will make sure I get something out of it
10/27/2011
I take the things that I think I might need between hotel and home - kleenex (not the whole box, but stuff some in my purse), maybe a pen or a bar of soap or something, but for the most part, there's nothing a hotel offers me that I need.
10/27/2011
Just the soap/shampoo.
10/28/2011
I take the soaps, shampoos, lotions, coffee, and the coffee.
10/28/2011
Just any unused soap/lotion/conditione r...
10/28/2011
Sops and shampoos..They're cute!! Plus aren't they for us to use anyway? So if we don't use them at the hotel we can take them home to use
10/28/2011
I take the soap and shampoos. They're so cute, I can't help it.
10/29/2011
I would be a liar if I said I didn't take anything. I totally take soaps and shampoos. They are great for travel and with what I pay for a room I'm sure a tiny bar of soap in my suitcase is not going to make or break them. I technically paid for it's usage anyway.
10/29/2011
the shampoos,you paid for them
10/29/2011
I'm okay with taking the shampoos, soap, and coffee but the pillows?!

I was surprised that people would take the blankets, too! AND bibles? I dunno, I didn't know about most of these but I had my friend who works in room-cleaning for places like this give me a list of things people typically take.

I take soap and shampoo, but only if it's really nice because i have like super thick curly hair that needs industrial strength high end stuff to make smooth and silky.
Example: I stayed at a hotel in Washington DC that stocked their amazing showers (with heated slate tiles!) with bath products by Kiehls. I definitely stashed the unused bottles so the maids would think we'd use all of it and give us more each time they cleaned the room... That stuff is awesome.

Nothing

Usually the soap and shampoo, though I have no idea why as I never use any of this. I also take the pens and notepads but I do use these things.
10/29/2011
I got a "don't steal shit, no matter what" policy. I don't think it's right. I can understand taking the little soaps or shampoo/ conditioner bottles because hotels never use those again. I don't take them personally though.
10/29/2011
I actually don't take anything from hotels/motels. Their shampoo and soap are pretty bad quality and they leave residues on my body...ick!
12/31/2011
Just shampoo and soap... I think they're meant to be taken (they can't be re-used, anyway.)
12/31/2011
towels if they're fluffy and new
12/31/2011
We do grab the soap shampoo lotions, but they are also partially used prior to leaving and they would toss them anyways.
12/31/2011
The soaps and shampoos always go in my bag

Er...the shampoo bottles, not the battery stealing

Only the replaceable items like soaps, shampoos, and notepads.

I'll usually take coffee sachets, Can't turn down the chance to try a different coffee brand and It'll sometimes lead to me changing to that brand of coffee anyway
01/01/2012
I'll take the soap and shampoo/conditioner or lotion if I like it.
02/18/2012
Always just the soap and shampoo/conditioner. If I didn't use it while there, anyway. I had a friend try to take the hair dryer and iron once.
