With the growing popularity of internet radio, podcasts, and digital media players, fewer people are listening to local radio stations. Do you still listen to local radio stations? When do you listen?
Do you still listen to local radio?

I listen to local radio a lot, almost all day long. Usually it's when I'm cleaning the house, writing reviews, playing games, etc. on the computer, cooking dinner and driving in the car.

No, not any more!
06/04/2013
I will sometimes but the damn commercials get annoying after a bit.
06/04/2013
I do! The kids and I listen to local radio all the time. We only have regular tv, and it gets boring.

I despise local radio. Half of it is commercials and the other half is the same 20 songs over and over. Local talk radio is the worst thing ever, who wants to listen to people gossip about justin beiber all day. Kill me now.
I use my trusty mp3 player in the car, now I can listen to anything I want and I no longer really care as much when stuck in traffic.

I do occasionally. There are a few good stations where I live but the commercials are annoying.

I can't even remember the last time I've listened! I used to listen to NPR during my commute a few years ago, though that barely counts in my opinion. I love Pandora and my mp3 player!

Not anymore, there's just too many commercials and the sound quality isn't as good as other sources. We have satellite radio and it's so much better. It's not free, but after we got it, we've found we just can't go back.
When I'm at home I usually just play music from my computer or MP3 player.

Yes, when I'm driving, and I especially like the John Tesh radio show.

I listen to local radio when I'm driving.

Lmao there is one in town that is super local but it's like The Crappiest Hits of the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

I only listen to the radio in the car but metro detroit radio stations that are my favorite:
93.9 The River - They play a combination of some oldies and some newer adult alternative music.
93.1 Doug FM - their catch phrase is "we play everything" but it's mostly the oldies. Looking at their website right now: ZZ Top, Billy Idol, The Cure, REO Speedwagon (ick), Jimmy Buffet, Paul McCartney, Hanging By a Moment by Lifehouse
88.7 "89X" - It's actually based in Windsor, Ontario but I think they have a station near Detroit so we get it too. They play current and recent alternative music.
97.9 WJLB - This is the station that plays primarily current rap music. I am not always that interested in it, but at night they have Quiet Storm music. When I had an alarm clock radio I used to always fall asleep with it on. It's like late night mellow R&B and slow songs.

I do. Seattle actually has a lot of pretty decent rock stations so I listen to them in the car.

Yes I do, I like internet radio better since you have the option to pick the songs you want to hear.

I do some if I am sick of CDs in my car.

Only time I listen to local radio is if I am in the car with my mom or someone else who doesn't listen to CDs and Mp3 players. I also listen to local radio on the radio I have in the bathroom when I am taking a shower.
When I am on the computer I listen to Pandora or my music I have on iTunes. I listen to XM radio on the TV as well. When in the car I am listening to either music on CDs I have made or music on my iPod

I do in the car if I'm too lazy to plug in my phone and open Pandora.

Yep, we have a great local classic rock station

Mr. John
I listen some rock, and a couple of news channels when I'm in the car.

I listen to either NPR or the local college radio station since it has a variety of music and little talking. I also only really listen on my way to and from work.

We listen to local stations while driving, and my favorite ones I also tend to turn on when I'm surfing the web at home.
My favorite (103.3 AMP radio, based in Boston, I think.) one even has an online streaming radio that I love to listen to. =3
I grew up with FM/AM radios, so it's just second nature to turn them on and find a decent local station since we don't have one of those "Sirius" radios in the van.

I listen 50/50 to local radio and internet radio. Often, the internet radio I listen to is traditional radio from an area I can't receive over the air but is also streamed online, live.

Only for NPR.
