Do you speak any other language then English? How did you learn it?

I speak Spanish and French. Learned them in school. Wife speaks, strangely, Norwegian, since her friends were from Norway.

I wish. That'd be cool. I did take French for three years in high school and I can still read it somewhat, but I've forgotten a lot and I was never very good at speaking it or understanding when it was spoken.

I speak my native language Chinese. I took two years of French in high school, but have forgotten most of it, the grammar part drove me crazy!

English is my native language, but I'm fairly well-versed in French because of school and some friends of mine. My stepmother is Brazilian, so I also know a bit of Portuguese but barely enough to swing a conversation! So when we visit her family I speak in a mix of all three

Unfortunately, just English. I never had the right mindset to learn another language, failed horribly at High School Spanish. I envy those who can speak 2 or more languages.

I *read* Spanish and French fairly well, but speaking and understanding it when it is spoken to me is much more difficult for me.

Ich kann ein bisschen deutsch sprechen, aber das ist alles I learned some elementary German in college. I also picked up a few phrases of Spanish and Polish here and there in my non-travels on the net.

English is my first language but I was taught Spanish as a child. I've lost a lot of it due to un-use, though. Haven't spoken much of it since college.

I grew up speaking Gujarati and Hindi, but I ended up being forced to unlearn most of those languages in elementary school (though the grammar stuck with me and I can get by in a phone call with relatives). I've also had 3 years of spanish vocab and 1 year of french vocab in elementary school (though I've forgotten most of it verbally, I can still recognize it on paper), and I took 2 years of latin in high school. However, despite all of that, I'm only really fluent in English( and fangirl, but that's not so much a language as it is a code mixed with a lot of high pitched squealing).

I took 5 years of French and 4 years of Spanish in school. I can read them both, and can understand it if spoken to me slowly and clearly. I can't speak very well because I mix them up and make this sort of French/Spanish hybrid that only I can understand.

I can speak some German, and it's just bits and phrases I've picked up thru books/music. But alot of the English language is based off German so it's not that hard to pick up on some phrases. I'd like to get Rosetta Stone to fully learn it but I cant afford it
