We don't live in a place the requires recycling, but we still do paper and plastic recycling voluntarily. How about you?
Do you recycle your trash or just toss it?

We have a big recycling bin that we use. We try to recycle everything but somethings do slip by. I wish we could separate the recycling, but they only offer/require the general recycling bin.

We don't have a recycling program where we live. You can take cans and cardboard to a place where adults with disabilities will sort them and ship them off but most of the time their equipment is done and you have to make several trips to get rid of it. Generally my husband uses cardboard and newspapers as fire starters in his shop and the rest goes to the landfill.

we fill up our recycle bin every week, and the smaller garbage bin maybe once every three weeks.

I live with my mom and neither of us really bother with recycling at this point in time.

We recycle all our glass, paper, and recyclable plastic items.

We try to recycle everything that we can.
But once in a while someone in the house will get lazy, and a box or two will just get tossed instead of recycled.

I recycle as much as I can. There are times where I am out and there isn't a recycling bin, so I just throw it out. I end up feeling guilty though.

Not much recycling around here, but I try!

We're lucky - they pick up the recycling at the curb and no sorting is required - except for yard waste which is composted so it is picked up separately. We recycle so much our main trash can only needs to be emptied 1/month - and they come every week!

We have a garbage can and a recycle can issued by the city. We recycle most of what can be recycled through the city. Aluminum cans we recycle for money back
04/13/2013
I do my best to recycle as much as possible, so I'll even keep some recycling with me for when I go home
04/13/2013
We have a blue trash can for recycling that the city picks up every other week so we do recycle for the most part
04/13/2013
we recycle as much as possible. if we can put it in the big can, we do.

Recently our neighborhood got weekly recycling so if it's in the kitchen and can be recycled it will be. I always forget when it comes to bathroom products though and need to get better about that. We also compost as well since i garden and plan on eventually using our current compost and mixing it with some nice soil for my vegetable garden.

We have always recycled as much as we can, I'm definitely not ok with unnecessary waste.
04/14/2013
I recycle everything I can. It's important to cut back on waste as much as possible. There are no excuses, especially when it's free!

That is exactly what we do. Goodwill runs the cardboard and paper recycling station.

We do it too, so don't jump me on this, but I wonder if it really is helping anything. I read that "recycling" separation ends up using more trucks, and the "recycle process" uses more energy and produces more waste then simple land fill or incinerator disposal. Hard to get detailed answers either way.

There is a perfect example of how recycling efforts may be hurting more then helping. Extra trucks, burning extra gas, trolling around half empty...etc. I wonder how much of this "green" initiative is just supporting shill industries with political ties and how much is actually doing any good for our environment. I want to do right for our children and their children, but sometimes I wonder about all this.

We have a bin for paper/plastic, and then cans we take in for the cash. The rest goes into the trash.

We toss most of it, boxes from packages and sodas we put in the recycle bin. Our bin isn't all that big so we can't fit much in it

I recycle everything that I can, we usually have more in our recycling bin than we do in our trash can when it's time for pick-up.

Recycle what I can, burn what can be burned, and throw away the rest.
04/15/2013
We recycle the typical stuff but we burn a lot of what we can from the rest.
