The Credit Union we are with is just easier to work with.

I've always used a bank, specificly the small local bank that my relatives own. I probably always will use them unless they close for some reason.

I'm actually not exactly sure what credit unions are. I know they are alternatives to using banks, but that's all I know about them. I should probably read up on them sometime.

Banks...but if I could get away with paying bills in cash, neither.

I like banks more, but use both. I prefer a bank because of the network of ATMs and online services.

Bank. We've been using the same bank for over twenty years.

My mom prefers credit unions because they can be more personalized, but I prefer banks because they're more accessible and more reliable.

Credit union, it's neat to go in and have people know me by name

I used to love banks...until I worked for one for six years. Now I hate them all, credit unions included. I still have a bank account at a big bank for ease of use, but my main funds stay at an online bank. The rates are high and the customer service is excellent.

In my experience, most banks have both horrible policies and awful employees that I'd just as soon rinse my eyes with lemon juice & diced habaneros than deal with them. Even if I don't love credit unions, they beat the alternative.

We have accounts in two banks and one credit union. For the most part we prefer the credit union as far as rates and personalized service.

Credit unions. Statewide ones are hard enough to find, let alone nationwide ones.

Credit unions. But it sucks that I have to jump through hoops every time I move.

I've never banked with a Credit Union before and I've been pretty happy with my bank.

I prefer the small local banks - I had a wonderful one up in Montana, and I briefly had one here in Florida before it got eaten alive by a Big Bank. The Big Bank was so awful that about 2/3's of the smaller bank's patrons closed their accounts. Nobody could afford the crazy fees the Big Bank was charging us with. Besides, they made all the employees they kept to clear their desks of their personal items, so the lobby and offices look abandoned instead of being worked in by real people. My boyfriend used to work at the headquarters of a Big Bank, and he was horrified of everything that went on. He uses credit unions now.

Big Banks are the suxxors.

Since I've been unemployed for a few years, I haven't had any accounts. Any official payments (car, storage) I've had to make are by money order. I'm currently researching my options. There are a few state-wide banks that are still around, so I might check into both them and credit unions when I start working again. I miss shopping online.

I've only ever used banks, but I can see the appeal that credit unions hold.
