I never used to like air conditioners in the car, I like to feel the wind on my face but living in the south air conditioning is a must. Which do you like better?
Do you prefer air conditioners in the car or windows down?

A/c most of the time, but our weekend/race car's a/c is broken right now, so we have to drive with the windows down.

I've gone long, hot summers with no AC in the car, and even had one summer where part of it we played "watch for the clock" because if the clock came on, then there was power to the windows and we could roll them down, otherwise we were stuck with the two little wing windows in the back. It was my very first car, and it was a glorious piece of junk. The first car I ever had AC in I paid to have it put in not because I wanted cool air in the summer, but because I wanted clear windows in the winter and when it rained. I also try to drive with the windows down vs AC for the gas mileage. Doesn't make a huge difference in my car, but every little bit helps. My husband would rather have the windows down for the breeze all the time. If it's super hot out and we have somewhere we have to look presentable at, I'll have the AC on, otherwise I stick with windows too. I can always shower later, lol.

Where's 'both' or 'Other'. When driving on local streets I'd rather have the windows down - but at 70-80 mph on the freeway - you've got to use AC or the wind is just going to beat you up.
We can go with our windows down here in CA because the humidity is low. If I lived (and use to) back east or in the south where the humidity is high - it's AC anytime it gets above 90.

I voted for AC. When the windows are down, not only does it mess with my hair, but it gets too loud.

A/C all the way and besides it helps with my allergies.

Typically I prefer AC but there are days when it feels great to ride around with the windows down and the music up loud.

I prefer an A/C, especially here in Florida with the heat and humidity and the rain we always have (the windows fog up FAST when they're up and it rains). Car doesn't have A/C, so it's a bitch - even with the windows down - when I'm sitting at a long light and sweating and inhaling gasoline fumes while surrounded by SUV's with their tinted-windows up ...

A/C all the way. It actually saves gas vs having the windows open because of the additional drag with the windows down.

Actually I think Mythbusters showed that the break even point was about 55 mph, lol. Over 55 and the AC saved on gas, under 55 and you were better with the windows open

I really prefer air conditioning, however my car does not have AC so it's windows all the way.

It depends on how hot and humid it is at the time, I usually prefer windows.

I like the Air on. It has more to do with my comfort than my hair, though.

My car is a black PT Cruiser with black leather seats. I've never had a black car with a black interior before. DAMN black leather (as sexy as it looks) is HOT! I run the Air all the time in my car. My Man leaves his window open, so even if the air is on in his truck, 100 degree air is blowing in the window. We have Air Conditioner Wars constantly.
I have about a 6 degree comfort area: between 68 74, he has a 40 degree comfort area: between 45 and 85. Drives me nuts. Every time the temperature outside drops to below 60 he says the exact same thing "I would be happy it if was like this all the time." ARIGHGHGGHHG!!!! Nothing would grow, no one would want to live here, everyone would be miserable, it would be impossible to do outdoor things in any relative comfort. He was raised to be "tough" and sometimes his "enthusiasm" for being comfortable in extremes drives me crazy.

Ac but do love windows down on long raod trips
06/01/2011
I prefer the windows to be down, but majority of the time it is too hot here and that requires the use of AC.

I prefer the windows down, unless I'm on the interstate, or it's so hot and humid I feel like I'm going to die.
06/01/2011
Air conditioner, always.
06/01/2011
depends on how hot it is
06/01/2011
Windows down is not good on your car's gas mileage.
06/01/2011
AC I get to hot to fast
06/01/2011
I hate when my hair blows in my face, especially if I'm wearing lip gloss and it sticks to my lips. I also absolutely hate the noise of the wind blowing in the window. It starts to drive me crazy after a couple minutes. I'm the same way with the sound of vacuuming, it just drives me up the wall.
06/01/2011
It depends on how hot it is outside and if the air is moving. No breeze? I roll up the windows and turn on the AC. Breezy and bearable? I roll down all the windows. I don't have enough hair to worry about it getting messed up.
06/01/2011
I dig the windows down, unless it's so hot that I'm sweaty even with all the windows down- then the AC is a nice relief.

It depends on how hot it is and how fast I am driving.

Love having the windows down, especially while riding along the coast. I grew up without A/C and now feel totally spoiled for having it all the time. But I love the nostalgic feeling of riding along with no A/C and the windows all the way down.

I have always just gone with the windows down. Unless I have someone else in the car who prefers the windows up I don't even think about the air conditoner

ac cold as it will go
06/02/2011
The windows down, unless it's so hot the breeze doesn't feel good. Then it's A/C time.
