There may be something wrong with me, but I've never liked much of italian food. There's a few things I like but not much at all. People think I'm crazy! I just find it so... plain. Maybe because I ate it a lot as a child. So, what about you? Do you like it? What's your favorite dish?
Do you like italian food?

We either really like it or really hate it, depends on the dish. A local restaurant serves a few dishes we like, chicken marsala, chicken scallopine, usually don't like the dishes with provolone or fete.

I'm..... Italian. I'd better like it. Problem 1. I'm allergic to dairy products, so Northern Italian food is pretty much out. But, Southern Peasant Food works well, as long as I make it myself and don't use Dairy products.
I was literally weaned on all manner of Southern Italian peasant food, from pastina, with butter, egg and Parmesan, to classic Red Gravy, to Ciambotta, to ravioli (My Kingdom for a good tofu ravioli!) to manacotti (pronounced "Man-ah-GOUT" ; ; ) to... everything southern, heavy and olive oily.
When I was a kid I hated Polenta night. It meant we were low on food, and I hated that pan, crusty on the edges, too eggy, with Red Gravy all over it. To this day I cannot eat Polenta, even though it's "rich people's food" now. It was, next to bread and oil, the ultimate "poor dago's dish" when I grew up.
However, I could eat bread and oil all day long. My great grandmother would not touch bread and olive oil. "Never again-a. Too poor-a. I hate-a bread an a olio." It reminded her of when that was all they had to eat in Italy.

I love Italian food. I don't find it plain at all, it's usually really flavourful. My boyfriend's Italian and Italian food is his favourite, so when we go out for dinner or if I'm cooking for him, that's usually what we'll have.

I love Italian food. My favorite is spicy Mexican though.

I love Italian food. I wish I knew how to make more Italian dishes myself, but I'm trying to learn!

Ooh, do you make your own pasta? I've been practicing---my results are always edible but very ugly and always too thick. (and .: can't be boiled evenly.)

I'm not a polenta fan, either.

some of it. It is like every other kind of ethnic food, some of it is good, and some if it is bad.

If you ate my Italian food, you would love it! I make a different Italian dish each week. Everything from Lasagne to Spagetti/w meatballs, from Shrimp Alfredo Lingini to Red gravy. My boss is Italian and I do his cooking. Ravioli is my very favorite, although I don't make my own. I buy frozen and add my own Red gravy to it.

I like manicotti and raviolis, but I'm not really big on spaghetti these days. And I'll never turn down a bowl of chicken alfredo. Goat cheese and olive oil on a nice bread is also one of my favorites.
