I am currently keeping a food journal of everything my son eats. He's working on his health. I'm curious as to whether or not others keep a food journal for themselves as well?
Do you keep a food journal?

Used to for almost a year then I got lazy, I'm back to it now though.

I tried...for maybe a month...then got too lazy. I just try to eat in moderation -- eat more veggies, don't eat fat, etc.

Nope

We've had to modify a lot of the way we eat. I have to make meals 2 different ways since my husband doesn't eat 1/2 of what we are changing. It's been really helpful, I thought about starting a journal for myself but, it does take a lot of remembering to do my sons food and exercise journal.

No, I've actually never done that. I always track my meals mentally and while eating, but not a journal. I see no reason to.

I don't keep one, but now that you mention it, I really should. They can be really helpful...

I also helped my son kept a journal for couple of months, it was a part of his school project. I personally don't feel the need to keep track of what we eat, because I cook pretty balanced and healthy meals.

Yes I do, though sometimes I forget; I have to eat more proteins and less sugar. Oh, honey honey.

Yes,I do.I find if helpful to know what I've been eating everyday.

I do. I use it to monitor my calories, protein, and sugar intake. I use My Fitness Pal which is an app for the iPhone and iPad. They also have a website so I can print out what I ate for the week and compare it to my mood charts and see how what I ate affected my mood.
I find that the food journal helps a lot. It makes me feel more accountable to what I eat. So if I feel like I want to sit down and eat a huge bag of candy, I'll have to look at the glaring red column in the "sugar" category. Then I'll feel bad, so I won't eat the candy.

I do. Solely for making sure I'm getting all of the vitamins and minerals I need. As for calorie counting, I'm not strict with myself like that.

no but I should I need something to keep me on track.

No. But I try not to have the same food each night. Unless it is leftovers.

I have an iphone but, it's prepaid and I don't get wifi on there unless I find a hot spot.

No. I used to try to keep a food journal, but I found that it just made me obsessive about my weight. Not a good thing for me.

I used to but stopped

I used to, for weight loss.
It does serve a purpose in tracking what you eat and keeps you accountable.
However it's important to only do this in short term for weight loss and not get obsessed and logging everything...

It's important to keep a dairy of your food, and I don't think it's a bad idea to record that for yourself, or your son. It's not just for weight loss purposes, my brother records his food logs because he's diabetic and wants to remain healthy. People think that this is ONLY for weightloss purposes, and they're not. I personally wanted to make sure I was getting all my nutrients, as well as maintaining a balanced diet.

I use my fitness pal so I hold myself accountable
