My son's school does a supply fee at the start of the year that covers all their supplies. This way all the kids have the same stuff and there's no "my binder/backpack/notebo ok is cooler than yours!" nonsense. So we don't have to do school shopping.

Ours did that for a while, but they discontinued it since they weren't getting the participation - partially since it was way marked up.

We've got some of the basics bought, but we don't have all the school lists we need yet.

I am putting it off because I really don't have the money right now.

No kids, no worries

No back to school shopping this year for the first time in 18 years. Just graduated for the final time (at least I hope so).

I just finished today, though I haven't gotten all of my 'moving to a new apartment' shopping done yet.
I had to get two books for $450, but they'll last me for two semesters of classes. The Organic Chem I and II book/package of books was $300 which was so painful... You HAVE to buy them from the Uni, though, because they're all new and don't have any used ones online anywhere yet...
Other than that I just got a few new pencils and notebooks!

My kids use school issued laptops and only needed a few pencils and a notebook a piece. I haven't ordered my books yet as the University hasn't released the ones they are using yet.

No more shopping of that kind anymore...

Haven't shopped for school supplies in two years, I bought way too much in one shopping trip.

I go to college, and I haven't started my back to school shopping yet. >.<
08/17/2012
don't need to!
08/17/2012
Don't really need to. But there is always good deals going on now. I should check it out.

No school for me and my boyfriend graduated college in May, so no more ever, I guess! Not having kids.

Yes, my "back to school shopping" for work is done There's something about this time of the year that makes me eager to buy new clothes, get a new day-planner, and scavenge sales at office supply stores for new pens and notebooks. What can I say? I'm a geek! I graduated from college over 3 years ago, but I still need my fix of school supplies.

I did it all before my surgery, so now I can just recover and let Dad do the rest...

Our school used to do this, at a nice price for all students, now they only do it for the "low income" students (but they pay nothing) and the rest of us are on our own. It was really helpful and the supplies were priced reasonably. I miss it. The kits were less expensive than buying the things at a store.

We haven't done ours yet, as I've been working virtually nonstop the last few weeks.
We will probably go today or this weekend.
I need a suggestion for a really well made back pack. My young one is tough on things, the zippers break, the straps unravel, the fabric tears, and I NEED a good suggestion.
Anyone have a name of a good (but not too expensive, I'm not paying $100.00 for a back pack) back pack that looks nice but is sturdy?

Our school starts Monday. We had open house last night and had to drop off all the supplies with the teacher.
08/17/2012
I don't have any kids.
08/17/2012
i'm done with school so no shopping needed
08/17/2012
Finished during tax free weekend.

Hubby says Jansport makes the best ones. He's reallllyyy hard on backpacks and says those are the only ones that hold up. He used to ride a motorcycle and used his backpacks to carry all his stuff. Most of them would tear up in a week.

I have supplies but need to buy books
08/17/2012
School has been in session here for a while. So yep, we have the shopping done.
08/17/2012
I only need to buy a new backpack, I already have the books and stuff.
08/17/2012
I don't do back to school shopping. When I need something for a college course I pick it up. I don't buy anything ahead of time other than textbooks. I also don't have any kids to buy stuff for.
08/19/2012
I have most of the stuff ready for her, I think there's like 3 more things left to get.
