The only acne story I have is one year, my senior year in high school, I started to break out like crazy. I had taken some meds that made me break out all over the place... My grandmother saw me and started spitting on my face all over it! Right in front of my bf (now fiance). She claimed the spit would heal the pimples and make them go away.
Sure enough... they did. All of them! Within two days my acne was completely gone. And I was never able to cure my acne with anything. Gross!

I've had it before, but thank God it was never like too bad all at once. I would get those huge, hard, boil like pimples on my period for years & it was so painful and humiliating! I have learned so many ways to fix it over the years though. I never ever had a single bump on my jaws/cheeks until last year. Tanning caused me to have a few and I was not happy. It scarred a little and I've gotten them to fade pretty well though.
For those painful pimples, make a paste out of epsom salt & a tiny drop of water. Remember, you want it to be as thick of a paste as possible so that means more salt, less water. Cover the pimple heavily with it and leave overnight. It should start healing by the nest morning. Also, it works best if the pimple has been opened. A light squeeze will do the trick. As a teen, nature's cure (buy at drugstores like walmart) worked very well for the teen, moderate acne.
I've got tons of fixes that I write about on my blog. I've tried the vitamin E oil capsules on some inflamed bumps and gotten pretty good results.
I also created my own concoction of acne fix several years ago. I mixed 5 drops of PURE tea tree oil. (Has to be 100% pure!) and a crushed up multi vitamin, a crushed up aspirin (usually just a half of the multi vit. crushed, but I like to use the full aspirin so it works better) the aspirin helps reduce redness & inflammation. Then add a bit of sea salt & if you want, a few squirts of orange or lemon juice, pineapple juice works too! You don't neccessarily HAVE to have each of those just to get results. For the lemon and orange juice, I usually just take the peel from a lemon/orange and bend it in half over and over in diff. areas so that the oils squirt out into a container or directly onto the face. I often just use that alone and leave it on my fave overnight for a nice, freshy glow and tightened pores.
I really like all of better botanicals products (you can find online) I've tried all of their hair care, Jojoba face mask is my absolute fav! It works freakin wonders! The juniper toning mist is nice, but for a good exfoliant and pimple reducer, pore tightener, the jojoba mask works best. I've tried almost all their skin care and I love them!
I know everyone's heard it before, but drinking a few bottles of water a day can work well! I can't always do it as it upsets my stomach issues when I drink a whole lot, but mixing it with mio water flavor works amazingly well when I need a serious skin fix. I also take aloe vera pills which will usually clear any and all acne. I also take coconut oil which is a big help, but the coconut oil recently made me sick since I'm new to it and took too much.
Sorry for the long advice! Lol. I hope this will be helpful to some of you who have suffered from acne like I have.

That is great advice! I currently use a concotion of green tea, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, water, and this oil blend that I forget the name of. But it has worked wonderfully if I use it daily. I am just one of those people who forgets, which is why I break out.

I had it when I was younger and it recently resurfaced. I'm currently taking an antibiotic (which I used last year to prevent malaria when I was in south africa lol) It's not terrible until I'm at a certain point in my cycle. I really hate how it makes me feel. I ended up with a lot of scaring from when I was young that I am currently trying to deal with now. I've changed my make up to something much more natural (LUSH cosmetics color supplement) which seems to be helping quite a bit. I'm also trying to drink more water which is supposed to help with acne as well as many other things.

i get outbreaks every once in a while, but my biggest problem is picking at zits. once when i was in middle school, i messed w/ this really big zit on the side of my nose. well, it left a big scab. 1 kid came up to me 1 day & asked if i had tried to pierce my nose. i was too embarrassed to tell him the truth, so i told him i had accidentally scratched myself. i still can't believe that he believed me.

I miss those old schoolday lies about scars and haircuts and whatnot. I have the same type of scar on my lip. Looks like I tried to pierce it. Either that or a mole.

I had pretty bad acne, and I still get it if I'm not dilligent about taking care of my skin. I get facials pretty regularly (it helps when you work there and can get them for less) and use the products we sell at our spa. My skin really does look so much better. I think you get what you pay for because I know when I used the acne products from the drugstore, they didn't help me at all.

I'd like to try something like this. Could you post the "recipe" for this (i.e., what the different proportions for each ingredient are)?

I usually break out when I am less than diligent about washing my face at night. Sometimes I am exhausted after a long day and lie down to take a nap, intending to get up later to do more work, but then I end up sleeping through the night. Those are the times I leave my makeup on and am "rewarded" by my laziness with a pimple here and there. I get small ones on my nose and more medium-sized ones on my lower cheek or jaw line. I hate getting them! I am also always fighting off blackheads. I know they are not really visible to people to whom I am casually talking, but I can see them because I have a majorly magnified and intensely lighted make up mirror, though. I can't stand getting blackheads, whiteheads, and zits! The blackheads on my nose are the biggest problem for me, though.

I had a very mild form of acne when I was younger. Nothing severe. I get blemishes every now and again, around my period, but I don't call it "acne." I think acne is a more persistent problem than the occasional pimple here and there.

Worst story: One summer when I was a teen I used a sunscreen on my face that made me acne 100% worse. I mean, there was not a single spot on my face that wasn't a giant pimple. I looked disfigured. Anyway, I decided to go get my eyebrows done because a friend said it would make me feel better about my appearance. Well, as I was getting them done the woman doing them started talking about stuff I should do to get rid of my acne and I wanted to cry, lol.
