I loathe photographs, but I had my pictures done for my mother after both high school and university. If you do or don't have photographs and had the option, what were your motivations?
Do you have graduation photographs?

I have pictures to some of my graduations.

I have pictures from my high school graduation. I didn't attend my college graduation though since I was recovering from surgery. Thus, no photos!

I have pictures from both graduations.

I only have the high school graduation photos, but, like KKJ, I missed my college ones due to illness. I was beautiful then, so I didn't mind having pictures & I needed something to put in the year book. Besides, I knew that it was something I & others would look back on & I would still be changing looks wise, so might as well document fleeting hotness.

I don't have graduation photos — of myself. If any were taken of me in high school, I was never aware of it. Ditto for college, but I did take pictures of a lot of my friends that day.
It was kind of de rigueur to drink heavily, so some of my pics were pretty amusing. At least two of my friends have framed copies of my pics from that day in their houses!

Didn't graduate high school, but I got my GED & had graduation for it -- I have photos. My partner and I graduated together, so I have one of us in our caps & gowns hanging in the room.

I totally count getting your GED as graduating high school. I mean, it's an equivalent program, it's just a little different, you know? =)

Sorry that I wasn't inclusive enough to give you your own option.

I graduated high school and had both my senior pics and pics of me in my gown. I didn't even go to my graduation for my AS degree.

I appreciate your question, but since both of my parents have passed away, it would be easier for me to reflect upon my own children. As parents, we do indeed have varying framed photographs of past graduations. I look at them as the Feng Shui in one’s life. Not only are they a source of pride for us as goal oriented parents, but they also serve to impart our pride and respect to our children. I suspect our children will foster the same attitudes we had, with their own children. However, we do not treat framed achievements, nor any personal photograph’s as shrines.

My high school graduation was considered a very big deal at my school (two separate ceremonies, and months of required after school prep) so I went to that. The day of graduation from undergrad I flew to Korea to go to a concert. Spent a few weeks there with my mother instead. I have pictures of that trip but not graduation.

I did it all. But did not attend the graduation ceremonies nor get photos done for high school, college or university. Thought it was a waste of time and money.
I personally feel that portraits; either personal or family, are silly and fake. When my sisters and I get together to get photos done, we goof off and show what we are really like. Usually, that means we are all red faced and crying because we are laughing so hard we cannot breathe... but it shows more of our real colours.

I took mine for the yearbook, but had no interest in purchasing them. I imagine my mother isn't too happy about that though.
