Do you have a fireplace? If so, do you use it?

Contributor: Trysexual Trysexual
There is just something about having a real fireplace in the winter. I've had gas fireplaces before, which are convenient and worked fine, while living in the South, then had a house so old, it had no fireplace (which I found very odd). Now we have a fireplace and use if frequently.

Do you have a fireplace?

If so, What kind?

Do you use it or is it just for decoration>?

We have a pellet stove, which is nice but not as nice as a fireplace. My girlfriend grew up in a house with a fireplace and a wood stove - I like visiting in the winter when they're both going.

We have a gas fireplace, but we rarely use it; we prefer running the central heat because we have a two storey house.

Traditional wood fireplace, and we use it when the weathers bad. It's a nice change and sitting by a warm fire in a snowstorm is great

We have a gas fireplace but it rarely gets used. I'd say we use it most if we have people over or if it's really cold inside.

We have one at home, had the house about 15 years, used it maybe as many times.

I have a gas fireplace and use it when it gets really cold outside, or we are out playing in the snow. Its nice to warm up in front of it.

No but I'd totally use it if I did. I think they're cozy.

I think a wood stove would be cool to have too.

I'd love to have a big roaring open fire to use in Winter.
