With all the research out there about how bad tanning is for you I'm absolutely amazed by how many orange people I see on a daily basis. I used to tan, but after reading about so my irrefutable studies and knowing people that have gotten melanoma I just can't bring myself to put my health at risk like that for the sake of vanity. So, I'd like to know: Do you fake tan and how often? Do you worry about skin cancer?
Do you fake tan?

I've never actually used any fake tanning method in my life but I have spent a lot of time in the sun. I had melanoma in high school. People don't realize how easy it is to develop skin cancer. I will never fake tan, the risks are just too great.

I have occasionally gone to a tanning booth, but believe it or not I use it for a skin condition that I get. And it kills it with 5 minutes in a tanning booth.

Honestly, I think people should stop acting like being tan automatically makes someone better or more attractive than someone who isn't. It lowers people's self esteem to the point where they risk skin cancer and waste money to lay in those stupid machines. And some would even prefer to be orange from that bottled "no-sun tan" crap, than to try to become comfortable in their own skin.
Occasionally, like during the summer, I just happen to spend enough time outside to get a light tan, but I'm not really an outdoorsy person during the rest of the year. So normally, I'm pretty white.
I was always made fun of in high school for it, but I never let it get to me. On the flipside, some people have even told me that my whiteness is an attractive quality.
I dunno, I just don't see the point of risking skin cancer and looking more and more like a leather bag as you age, when there is absolutely nothing wrong with pale skin.
Sorry for ranting, just had to get it out ;P

Nope. I'm rather pale and okay with that. The tanning I have gotten in the past was from being out in the sun, but not without protection. When I'm outdoorsy, a tan shows up, but when I'm not, I'm fine with that. It's winter, for crying out loud!

Nope. I like being pale.
12/24/2012
No, I don't want to be one of those orange people.
12/24/2012
I'm good being pale.

I don't

I don't. I just stay reflective white.

When you said "fake tan" I thought you meant spray on/rub on tanner. I guess you mean a tanning bed? Well, no to both. I do get tan, but it is not intentional. I just happen to spend a fair amount of time outside in the garden and taking the kids to school. If I *know* I'll be outside for a while, I put on sunscreen.
Fun fact: many decades ago there was a female celebrity (the name escapes me) that came back from a European vacation with a tan. Believe it or not, that's how the idea of tan=beautiful started. Before that, pale skin was thought to be more attractive.
Edit: It was Coco Chanel and she went to the French Riviera.

I've done it before for very short periods of time. I've had a few moles that didn't turn out to be anything, but I certainly won't be in a tanning booth anytime soon after that. Plus I like being pale.

I use to all the time. I haven't though in over eight years or so.
12/24/2012
I used to but I've since made peace with my porcelain skin.
12/24/2012
Nope, I don't. Putting myself at risk that way seems pretty stupid. Besides, my skin's pretty tan already.

Too fair-skinned to tan. I don't like the tanned look anyway, so it's all cool .

I do not fake tan.
12/24/2012
I do not
12/24/2012
I only fake tan when I know that I'm going on a tropical vacation in the middle of the winter.
12/24/2012
I don't, I'm pale and I stay pale
12/24/2012
I do not fake tan. I prefer my blindingly pale skin.
12/24/2012
I'm black XD So fake tans are totally not in my future or past.
12/24/2012
No fake tan here.

I'm hispanic so my skin just absorbs all the tan I ever need jrom any time I casually go outdoors. People should just be comfortable in their natural skin. Dark brown skin is beautiful, lily white skin is beautiful. Embrace it!

i have never used a tanning bed. i have used like tanning spray that helps u tan and then laid out in the sun.
12/24/2012
dont fake tan
12/24/2012
I tried a spray tan once. It was too uneven and too yellow. Now I just embrace my pale skin.
12/25/2012
I don't fake tan. I don't because I don't want skin cancer and because I don't want to join the ranks of Oompa Loompas that are the sorostitutes on my campus.
12/25/2012
No tanning here
12/25/2012
