Do you exercise?

Contributor: Eliza Eliza
Just curious how many people here exercise, or exercise regularly (ASIDE from having sex ). I had been trying to get into running, but I keep getting colds, and it's rather hard to run with a stuffy nose and a bad cough.

If you've done any especially effective workout programs, be sure to comment. :]

I lift and do step aerobics. I actually just got certified to teach step. I may be a fatass but I rock a step bench.

No...haha. I'm way lazy. I kinda want to, but then when you get people telling you that you don't need it, it doesn't motivate you. At 5'5", I weigh around 120 lbs. Still, I've very much out of shape.

I attempt to do something daily lately. It's mostly kickboxing, walking, or strength training though. I want to get into the ellipticals.

I probably get less exercise than some physically handicapped people I know. I don't really enjoy exercise anymore. A little walking makes me tired. But somehow I can get away with not doing it to some extent--I'm doughy, but pretty thin. But I realize that this lifestyle isn't good for my body in some ways and emotional welfare. I'm thinking about working my way up to some of what I used to be capable of, but I'd rather play video games than get a good workout now. ^_^'

I walk my pooch for an hour and do stretching exercises daily.

Since you get colds so easily, you should consider taking vitamin D-3 daily, sufficient sleep also helps. Even though you can't exercise outdoors because of frequent colds, you can still establish an exercise routine at home.

That's exactly my problem! I'm 5' and 100 lbs, so I look thin enough, but I know I am way out of shape. I want to exercise just to be more fit, but it's hard to be motivated.

Did you actually have good results? I was thinking about starting something like that, but I want to make sure it would be worth it.

Weights twice a week, aerobic machines 3-4 times a week, and sex as often as possible, Ha! Prefer the sex as exercise part the best though......

Fast walking, jogging, and biking are my exercise. If I remember, I'll do push-ups, crunches, and the like as well. I'd SO do yoga if it wasn't so expensive. I may have to take a yoga class for my college!

i suffer from constant colds too so i know how hard it can be trying to keep up a exercise schedule. i take allegra D every day to combat my crazy sinuses. but i also try to take is slow and do many different acivities. i do yoga and pilates, i try to walk and occasionally jog. i try to play with my dog outside for at least 15-30 min a day, as well as sit ups and weights.

just keep busy and even if I dont feel well just try to take a walk- some times fresh air can help you feel better- or the hot shower after.

My boyfriend and I both had amazing results. There's also Insanity, which I think is for those who aren't really out of shape, but looking to "tighten up".

Haha, I don't think I'd be ready for something called Insanity. I'm thin, but not in shape. I get winded pretty quickly, but something like P90X might be the full-body workout that I'm looking for.

So true! Colds definitely throw off my schedule. I had hurt my ankle back in December, and since then I've been sick at just the right intervals that I have never been able to get a steady schedule back. I wanted to do yoga, but I feel like you have to dedicate a longer block of time to that and I don't have that in my schedule right now. I'm hoping a 30 minute video or something will help me get going again.
