The current dietary recommendation for fruits and vegetables is 5-9 servings a day. I must confess that while I love produce, I don't eat quite that much. Just wondering how many people do? (Good job, those who do. )
Do you eat the recommended servings of fruits and vegetables?

Other!
I'm on a new diet and I'm only allowed 1 cup of cooked veggies or 2 cups of raw veggies a day, and not all veggies are allowed. It's working too, I've lost 12.5 pounds in 13 days.

As a vegetarian I try to eat as much fruits and veggies as possible. I know from experience how much better I feel eating them, then if I just grab a bagel or cereal. In fact a bowl of cut up fruit keeps me satisfied much longer then most quick breakfasts.

I'm probably a "sometimes yes, sometimes no."

Same. I get my daily servings often. Since going vegetarian it's been much easier too.

I don't have time, and I don't like a lot of veggies.
04/17/2013
I hate most veggies, but I LOVE fruit!

I like fruits and veggies but 5-9 servings is just impractical. The people that came up with these recommendations must eat a huge quantity of food each day!

Not at all. Three pieces fruit and two veggie side dishes(or one big one) make up five servings. I wonder how much do you each it that is too much for you.

Honestly? No. Before I got serious about losing weight and had weight loss surgery, I didn't eat a lot of vegetables because I wasn't crazy about them. Since surgery (3.5 years ago) I've gotten much more serious about being healthy and setting a good example for our kids, so I do eat a wide variety of vegetables...only now I physically cannot consume enough of them to meet the daily recommendations. Potent vitamins for the win, lol.

I try because I love fruits and veggies.

I love fruits and vegetables, but I just cant keep up on my own. I definitely need to improve my diet.
04/17/2013
Not really..don't like many Veg.
04/17/2013
Just if ends up happening by chance. I try to eat a balance of foods when I can.
04/17/2013
On the days I can eat, I do get the minimum & more, especially when my garden is producing. But some days, all I can handle is a few Saltines to settle my stomach. I marked yes, because the sick days are not in my control.

Most of the time I do, or at least, I try to. I know I don't meet my goal every day though.
04/17/2013
I always eat more than enough fruit but it's the veggies where I'm struggling. Some days I get enough, some days I can't bring myself to eat another veggie.
04/17/2013
I don't get enough as I am supposed too but do eat more veggies with meals though.
04/17/2013
I don't, I do okay with the fruits but not a big veggie person.
04/17/2013
I hate veggies, but love the fruit, we just can't keep them in the house.
04/17/2013
More vegetables than fruits, for sure, but not always the recommended amount.
04/17/2013
I try to but it always does not work out for me.
04/17/2013
I try pretty hard, and I'm guessing I make that goal about 75% of the time. One green smoothie can get me up to 4 servings in one glass!

I dont get nearly enough of my servings of anything, aside form water. I'm actually plan on changing my diet in the next few weeks, to make sure i get enough of these two food groups specifically as well and trying to exercise more often and be overall much more healthy.
04/18/2013
More often than not, I don't :/

Oh how I try! Somedays though, I just don't have all that on-hand or the time to consume it all! I do try very hard to get everything needed, but like today, I don't always get it from the foods I eat. So that's why I have a whole arsenal of herbs and tinctures and all sorts of crap. Not crap. I shouldn't call it crap. Lol. For instance, tonight I took a whole 2 extra doses of seabuckthorn oil because it contains so many vitamins and omegas that I know I didn't get from the little I ate today. So I try to make up for it by doing things like drinking it or something similar.
