I'm very proud of my little girl right now! She wanted us to give the community some food for the holidays and tonight while were were packing it all up, we had a total of 115 items just from her!

She takes so much after me!

I'm so proud of her and I am going to continue to do this every year!

Do you donate food items or other items for the Holidays?

we donate or collect donations year around. The scouts do all kind of things to help the needy year around. We also help out through church.

Yes, I donate, but all year, not just during Holidays. Our community has food drives throughout the year, but it does get heavy during holidays. I NEVER skip donating whenever I can. I get depressed during the cold weather and I think about people who are doing without A LOT. I always have during winter. I hate it. But it reminds me to donate.

I do especially things that I can get a really good deal on and then I can give more.

That is a fantastic job by your daughter! Well done to both of you!

Yes, we donate a lot during the holidays and throughout the year as well. The grocery store we go to the most is great especially at the holidays where they ask if you want to round up to the next $5 on your bill (i.e. your bill is $71 and you round up to $75) and they donate that much in canned foods to local food banks. It's a little thing, but over the course of a month you've helped a good bit. I also volunteer at a soup kitchen once a month and try to bring a lot of cans in when I'm working there.

I'm thinking of picking a family here that is on the angel tree and buying for them. This teaches children so much when you have them involved at such a young age.

We donate food and buy food coupons for people frequently.

If it is a drive outside a grocery store (like at the school or an other place,) I buy the food. If it's a drive INSIDE the grocery store, I rather buy the "coupons" for the needy. I don't see why the store should make a profit when I buy the food, then throw it into a box near the door. When you buy instore coupons for the needy, the food is purchased at the store's wholesale price and the store doesn't make a profit from our generosity and more food goes to people who need it per dollar donated.

Always do. I save up all year and go into Wal-Mart and grab a dozen or so of those wish list cards from there donation tree and buy as many toys as I can from the list. We also do the "Shop With A Sheriff" where they bring in kids from abused and battered homes and let them by anything they want under $100. It's a lot of fun.

It's so nice to see how many help out from Eden! Another reason why I love being a part of this community!

About three times a year the post office and Boyscouts leave plastic bags on the doors or mailboxes in my neighborhood for their food drive. I do fill the bag almost every time but I don't specifically donate during the holidays.

That's really lovely! I admit that I don't usually donate food, though. At this point in my life it isn't really do-able. I may in the future! I have participated in angel trees and whatnot in the past.
