I would say I am a bit of a tree hugger. I definitely care a lot about of planet. Do you consider yourself an environmentalist?

Hell NO!!! The environmentalists have all but destroyed the beautiful ecosystem where I live and made it a hassle to effectively care and nurture our environment. Sorry--but they have given that word a very bad name!!!
I care about the planet, recycle when I can and clean up the forest and camping areas of debris left behind. Because I care-not for any recognition, etc., which since I do this on my own time is non-existent-but to better the quality of the forest for the animals and future visitors. It is the right thing to do. So--depends on how you are using the word.

Well...not really. I did take a couple of courses in environmental science for distribution requirements, so I'm somewhat versed in the issues, but I'm not really passionate about them--too many other things taking up my time and attention! I think more needs to be done to protect the environment, but I personally am more concerned with other issues, if that makes any sense? Maybe that makes me a bit of a hypocrite, I don't know. I do try to help a bit, by recycling and such, and I do a lot of online swapping...

I wonder where you're talking about and what has happened to "all but destroy..."?

I consider myself an environmentalist.

Definitely. It's part of why I'm a minimalist. I care deeply about overconsumption and waste.

I didn't consider myself an environmentalist until recently, mostly because I thought everyone did what my family did!
I was brought up on learning to separate recyclables out of trash, and to turn the TV off if you aren't watching, or turn off lights if you aren't there, and to use reusable grocery bags and take public transportation/ride bikes/walk if it was feasible. I thought it was common sense.
Apparently, not everyone does these things. That said, I don't necessarily go completely out of my way to be green. I don't recycle peanut butter jars because they're too insanely difficult to get completely cleaned out.

You probably don't need to get them completely clean

For sure.
I come from an area with dense forest, and it's such a shame to see what peoples litter does to the environment:/

Loosely, yes.

Somewhat, I recycle and keep things clean. It helps that I've seen how bad people have screwed up the woods I like to hike in

We care about being good stuarts of our planet. we clean up after ourselves. We even clean up other garbage we finds when out in the wild. I even made all my cub scouts clean up the entire campground after scout camp, even though they did not want to (they are 8 year olds after all).

I'm majoring in Environmental Analysis, so I'd say definitely. Environmental activism is a big part of my life.
