Do you call it a blinker or a turn signal?

Contributor: Lildrummrgurl7 Lildrummrgurl7
When my fiance moved to the Pacific Northwest from the Midwest, I noticed he used the term "turn signal" while I've always referred to it as a "blinker." When I was visiting his family in the Midwest,I noticed everyone calls it a turn signal. Is it a regional thing? What term do you use?

Turn signal. Sometimes I hear people refer to the hazard lights as "blinkers" but not often.

I call it a turn signal. Maybe I've called it a blinker once or twice because I was responding to someone who used the term and it slipped out, but it's not what I typically say.

for some strange reason "blinker" drives me nuts. I see it the same as calling your car a vroomer

Haha well I certainly call them blinkers but I've never referred to a car as a "vroomer" haha

I say turn signal most of the time, but sometimes use the word blinker when I'm yelling at another driver for not using it.

I called it a blinker as a kid, now I refer to it as a turn signal but usually when I'm raving about idiots who DONT signal when they need to (high traffic left turns) I just call it 'signal' -shrug-
