I have a new cat that I rescued and he is absolutely the best kitty ever!!!! He plays around like he is a dog.
Do you baby-talk your pets?

Yes.
And I'm not ashamed.

Sometimes, and I think they like it.

I do sometimes but mostly when other people aren't around

a lot of the times

Yuck.

Both my husband and I baby talk to our poodle on occasions, but we can also be stern with him when necessary.

I'm guilty of doing that sometimes.

I baby talk to my cat a bit. I don't to my dog though (okay, I admit it, I like the cat better ).

My cat is a very good listener and also loves to talk to me too!

It's something I can't help doing, he's so cute

Only when no one else is around. My cats seem to like it, though, and think I am upset with them if I don't do it.

I guess saying "Oh kitten!" in a slightly higher voice as I pick her up qualifies me as a baby talker to my pets. =P
07/28/2012
no i do not
07/28/2012
Definitely. It's difficult not to.
I saw this documentary that showed how domesticated dogs came to be. It was fascinating. With each generation of docility they become "cuter" features wise and more able to read what pleases humans. They evolved in a way to make us want to take care of them.
