This is a simple yes or no poll, but feel free to leave stories below if you'd like. I'm just curious how many people really have problems with their in-laws. I have always had problems with mine.
Do you and your in-laws get along?

We aren't married, but his mom adores me. And also my mother loves him. I don't see any problems with in-laws in our future, which is quite a relief!!

they're so stoic I have no idea if we're getting along swimmingly or they hate me.

I'm not married, but I have loved my current guy's family, and I loved my last ex's family.

Yes and no! We get along swimmingly with his family (ya know, because they're NORMAL people with manners) and we don't talk to my family anymore.
12/05/2011
I love my hubby's family.

Yes and no, my mother-in-law knows all the right moves to get along with the younger generation, but my father-in-law is a chauvinist pig! He complains to his ex-wife about me not performing the duties of a daughter-in-law, but never explains what that meant. I guess it's because I didn't send him gifts, or call him up to say hello often, but he lives in Edmonton, Canada, far away from us.

Most of the time.

Yes on both sides. There are a few small things here and there that some people don't see eye to eye on, but for the most part everybody gets along.

Yes. Her mom LOVES me! I love being around her mom as she is always so happy and laughing. A great person to be around. My folks love her and look forward to seeing her for the holiday's.

His mom really likes me, but that's about it. :x

I get along great with my in-laws. They are like my second parents.

I have two sets of in-laws, as does my husband. We are lucky and have great relationships with all four families. I adore his mother, and we are thick as thieves. I also love spending time around his dad. You are never more than 30 seconds away from a dirty joke.

They slammed the door in my face, the first time I met them. NO kidding, thinking I was another "bad boy" she had brought home. Turns out, I was the one GOOD BOY she decided to friend and once they got to know me....well, 32 wonderful years later, I love her, she love me, and THEY love me as well, and I love them too. YES, In laws can be NICE things to have!!!!!

That sounds like they may be British!!!! My In laws are that way too.....but once you get to understand their nature, you realize that them being quiet and stoic about you means you DO have their love/admiration. It is when they DO get angry or emotional, you know you have some BAD mojo between you.

It can indeed be a BLESSING to a marriage, or, a curse if you don't get along. It is TRUE...you never just marry the person, you DO marry their family!!!!!!!

I LOVE my mother-in-law. She is really funny and quite open-minded in many ways. However, my father-in-law has different views on a lot of things. If you told him it was light out, he would say its dark; generally, we have opposite views on a lot of things. But I LOVE my mother-in-law!!!!

I get along with his mom just fine, but I don't think his dad likes me at all. He was mad at me for the longest time because I got an apartment with my fiance. Something along the lines of, "I'm stealing him away."
I clicked yes, though, because I get along fine with everyone else.

Her mom and I get along great and we have weirdly similar senses of humor. Her dad and I are in silent tension. He is very set in his ways and a bit of a hard ass. I seriously think we would get along better if we had a fistfight or something to break the man-ice.

Haha, I think most people probably do have some trouble

We weren't married, but my baby's daddy's parents are egg suckers. Nothing literal in that term...just what I want to call them.

They're not "in-laws" yet but my boyfriend's parents treat me like one of their own. They're also just good people in general. c:

Nope. I dispise my inlaws and the feeling is mutual.
As far as my parents w/ my husband, at first it was a bit rocky, but my parents love him and he does the same. I think at first it was because I'm my daddy's girl and I was just out of highschool, and hubby is 4 years older than me
