Yeah, I'm really not a fan of this. I've had a couple of friends do this a lot, but I think they're finally getting that it's kind of uncool. I actually haven't heard anyone doing it lately. Maybe that whole thing is on its way out.

God, I've hated this term-use for the past 10+ years. >_<

I'm ready to dodge stones and tomatoes!

I occasionally use it, but I do among my friends who know me well (and know I have Guncles and a gay Bro). They know it's not meant to be derogatory and even my gay friends use it. I guess it's our own little micro-culture. We're not PC for almost any group when we're together. So it's all archie-bunker-esque debauchery.

I won't in public since I don't know people there, though.

Yeah, I get unsettled by it. My friends I can't control, but my family is being trained out of it.

My wife will not hesitate to correct someone using "gay" in a derogatory way. I am kind of like Mwar. Please understand that I do not approve of bashing any group, individual, culture, or what ever. But I can't help but wonder if we are just too sensitive.

I find it really rude, but I don't generally make a big deal of it if someone says it unless they're friends or family.
My mother has learned not to use it though, every time she'd use it I would repeat that PSA Wanda Sykes did about using gay as a derogatory term.

I used to say it a lot when I was a kid because when we were in school in the 90's most kids said it. I've had to train my brain to NOT say it because I know it's not right. I'm also used to saying, "oh my god!" and I'm not even religious. It's just a bad habit that's hard to break. I probably say lots of other things too I picked up in school that I need to unlearn. lol.

I also am like Mwar, and I am bisexual so it's definitely not in disrespect, but I agree people are just too sensitive I feel. I mean I am half gay, right? lol well either way I do fit into that category, so if a woman who fits in that spectrum doesn't take it offensively (and my also bisexual hubby USES that word) no one should

We are sensitive, We'll yea that is why people use that word to replace the meaning as something else, not in means of "bashing any group, individual, cultu re" , but it still comes out wrong.

Yea but ur saying gay as in orientation wise, so that is fine. What is retarded is saying, your shirt looks so gay (instead of retarded).

tomatoes lol. when u said that, it reminded me of squidward from spongebob on stage, having tomatoes thrown at him. Yea keeping it out of public is a good thing, but sometimes things come out unexpectedly.
