I'm just curious whether people actually tune in to the presidential debates and, if so, whether they actually affect the way that you vote (or the confidence with which you vote).
Do presidential debates affect your vote?

They can affect my vote, but it depends a lot on what's said.

It'd take something huge to sway my vote at this point

I vote based on performance, research and fact checking.... I used to vote by how they stood on the issues, but they are all the same at this point.

I think most people who watch debates are already decided really.

I've never really cared to watch the debates. I've already made up my mind, so I don't need them to try to persuade me.
10/23/2012
I watch them but by the time the debates come along I've pretty much already decided who I want.
10/23/2012
I had in my mind who I was going to vote for, and the debates just encourage my thoughts.

Yes

In my opinion the most important thing a President does is appoint judges who serve long after they are gone. I vote for the person who will nominate the type judge that appeals to me. The debates never even talk about this issue.

they don't affect mine

They don't affect my vote.

Wasn't sure who to vote for before the debates...honestly don't like either of them, but that's how politics goes I guess...
10/24/2012
Nothing all that important really seems to be said at the debates. I already know the candidates' positions on the issues I care about.

I did not watch the debates, but I've been following the highlights on the news afterward. Honestly, I've been firm in my decision of who to vote for. It would take something huge to get me to change my mind against him, and even then I'd rather not vote than vote for the other guy.

I watch (or at least keep abreast of) the debates, but they've never really impacted my vote.
10/24/2012
I think debates are too full of drama to change anyone's mind either way.
10/24/2012
I don't watch the debates. I don't really see the point and I know who I'm voting for.
10/24/2012
I don't watch because I don't want to watch. They most certainly wouldn't change my mind this round. I know who my vote is going for.
10/24/2012
Sometimes they can, sometimes they don't. Even when it doesn't, it's nice to have a better feel for the person I'm voting for
10/24/2012
Didn't watch a single second of them. But will vote.

My mind is made prior to the debates. I still watch a bit though

I do not watch them nor do I vote because the elections are rigged and whomever the government wants in the office is who will be there...our votes do not matter (this is my opinion)

I don't watch and I don't vote!

Theoretically, I guess I COULD change my mind based on the debates, but I'm pretty committed to my political party and know most of the issues and the candidates' stances beforehand.
