Do guys feel awkward at Victoria’s Secret?

Contributor: Mr. John Mr. John
Do you take your guy to Victoria’s Secret, or do you prefer to shop alone? Maybe you prefer your purchase to be a surprise. If you do take him along, does he feel awkward, or is he part of the decision making? If your partner is another woman, do you bring her along? Does she factor in with your decision making?

My boyfriend always goes to a different store hahaha. He really doesn't like it in there, probably because there's
1) nothing fun to look at while I try things on
2) the awkward conversation where I ask him which bra made my boobs look better
and 3) he's the only guy in there.

I don't really mind, though, if he doesn't wanna come in he can entertain himself elsewhere!

They have a strategically placed bench outside of our VS so he just sits there and amuses our 9 year old while I do a bit of shopping. He doesn't really mind the store, he actually will occasionally surprise me with something he picked up from there himself, I think it's more of a "I have to keep the kid entertained" kind of thing for him. Most times when we're at the mall it's the three of us so it just works out easier that way.

I have never been uncomfortable going to that store, or any like it.

My wife always wants me to go. She wants to know what I find sexy. There are awkward moments, but it's fun, too. When she finds something she likes, I LOVE her excitement. And I find the environment/vibe in our VS store to be distinctly sexy, in a low-key way.

I like to bring my boyfriend with me and get his opinion. Sometimes he will even pull me into the store and pick something out for me. He never feels awkward about it and has even asked an associate for a specific bra for me while I was in the dressing room.

My husband hates to go in there. He doesn't mind lingerie sections in the department stores, but there's something about VS that makes him uncomfortable. It could be all the other uncomfortable guys in there being shown thongs...

My man is comfortable in the store and any other store like it. Not a big deal for him...he enjoys picking things out for me while being there.

I like that she gets things from there and I always enjoy helping her picking things out... but it does get a bit awkward when we're discussing what I would like her to wear with salespeople hanging over my shoulder.

"Well hello there, miss! Since you're eavesdropping, what outfit do you think would lead to more fucking?"

My guy feels pretty awkward, but he's gone with me every time. I should thank him.

I'm not a guy, I'm a fat chick, and I feel hella uncomfortable in Victoria's Secret. Even if I'm there with a skinny friend, I always feel judged and unwelcome.

haha with you on that one, I don't even go into any of them, it's just underwear anyways. It's not like it's something you can't get else where. Plus I really don't like the idea of buying undergarments many other people have tried on before either....

No, I've never felt uncomfortable at VS and we go together quite often. I'll even shop at VS alone to surprise her.

I buy all of my lingerie online. I live is Australia, so no there's VS here. We have Bras 'N Things, which like VS has a severely limited range of cup sizes. Fitters seem hopeless wherever I go, so I'd much rather get bras off the internet and be my own fitter. I wouldn't mind going with my boyfriend to a lingerie store that catered for my size if such a thing existed. I don't think he'd have a problem with it either.

I worked at VS for about 4 months. It was awful. But all of the girls who work there love when a guy comes in. It is so refreshing to help a man pick something out to make his woman feel sexy, instead of just building the self esteem of pre-teens who come in and buy massive push up bras. Helping the men was always my favorite. They are always so adorable and are usually on an extreme spectrum; either they find it super awkward or they find it super exciting and know just what they want.
