^This is true. Pretty much everyone around here says dinner instead of supper.

I say dinner. It seems like the more south you go, that's when they say supper. Though people in the Appalachian region here in Ohio tend to say supper. I hear both around here.

Yeah, I use them both. My grandma uses dinner to mean the midday meal, though, and supper to mean the evening meal.

I always say dinner. I remember my dad saying supper a lot when I was a kid, but I don't hear too many people using that word much any more.
