Does anyone cook dinner for themselves and them alone occasionally? I typically eat horribly, but tonight I seared and broiled a 15 oz bone-in ribeye with sauteed asparagus and a caesar salad. Tonight I kinda splurged, but I only spent about $11 on a meal that would typically cost $30 at a restaurant.
Dinner alone?

I make dinner for myself alone all the time, I live alone. I also travel for business so I eat alone at restaurants. Tonight I ate in the bar and it was really nice.

Sounds fabulous! I rarely, if ever, cook for just myself anymore. Which is super nice but when I did I would make the dishes no one I know likes: stroganoff, alfredo sauces...weird snacks and stuff like that.
Speaking of...now that it's almost Halloween, I think I'll make some bird's nests. A little food coloring would change them into decaying bird's nests. (Can you tell how bored I am?)

I tend to cook with more enthusiasm if there is someone else to appreciate it. I usually just eat something quick just for me and my daughter. Sandwiches, soup, salad, pasta. If I have dinner guests, though, I'll go all out.
