When you were growing up did you have parents that liked to cook? My mom was probably like most of yours and only cooked dinner because she had to, not because she enjoyed it.
Did your parents cook?

My mom cooked every night, but it was always the same stuff. I think she did it because she had to and not because she enjoyed it.

Both of my parents cooked. They had their own specialities and shared the everyday cooking too. Everyday cooking, I don't think it was really enjoyable, but they always enjoyed doing big, special dinners.

Yes, my mom was an excellent cook and enjoyed it. My dad cooked on occasion too...as do I now.

My mom cooked, but I think it was because she had to. I almost always enjoyed it.
She loved baking though, and put a lot of effort into that. She used to make amazing gift baskets with home made banana break, cookies, and many other yummy treats for all the neighbors.

My mom didn't, but I stayed with my nan for a long time and she did every day.

My mom cooked all the time we even made sweets and what not as kids with her.

my mom cooked to feed us during the week but on the weekends she would make great meals and bake sweets

My Mom cooked until my Dad retired, and then he took over all the cooking. I think they both liked to - they certainly did it well

My mom cooked while she was married to my dad but after the divorce--not really much at all. It was fend for yourself for my teen years. She would bake occasionally.
I love to cook special meals and even get in the mood for making some really yummy meals during the week. Honestly though, after work I do not always feel like cooking and get frozen food for those days.
I love baking and making candy during the winter--too hot in the summer, though to bake much.

My mom did basic meals like sandwiches and stuff, my dad did most of the dinner cooking. He's a great cook My grandma took care of me for most of my childhood though, she's an amazing cook, all homey traditional Japanese food when I was at her house

My parents rarely cooked

My mom cooked every night and did it very well. My dad didn't cook at all. If he had to, it was frozen pizza of sandwiches.

They did for a while then they gave up. I cook for them now!

My mom would cook, but it was mostly just the stuff you throw together in 5-10 minutes. She very rarely actually made anything from scratch. I don't think she enjoyed cooking at all, though she thought her food was much better than it actually was. Usually stuff was burned or very much overdone. I still refuse to eat any sort of meat she makes because it's always so tough and dry. She insists there is something wrong with me and that her food is always tender and juicy.

Dinner and sometimes breakfast.

Both my parents cook. My dad probably a little more often now that he's retired.

There was almost no from-scratch cooking in my house growing up. It was mostly pre-packaged, with the exception of *some* of the meats. I don't even think I ever saw a vegetable in the house that wasn't frozen. My husband's mom, though, cooks almost everything from scratch except bread. Husband and I, in our house, do mostly from-scratch cooking except when we are exhausted, sick, or were too busy that day.

My mom cooks, very occasionally my dad does, and that's usually when we have tacos or my Dad wants to try a new recipe.

My mom cooked until she died, but after my mom died my dad usually brought takeout home or we would make something like a frozen dinner or something since he didn't know much about cooking and I was still pretty young and hadn't learned how to cook yet.

My dad ran a restaurant for a while when I was a kid, and my mom (who I lived with, my parents were divorced) cooked pretty much every night. Cooking runs in my blood! They both grew up very poor and their parents cooked from scratch every day to keep their large families fed. My mom in particular carried that down and cooked lots of fresh veggies and meals from scratch. I pretty much never had frozen or canned vegetables as a kid, and no frozen dinners or meals out of a box. And now I cook pretty much the same way.

Mine loved cooking and baking up until my brother and I were taking by the state, and from then on, she barely ever cooked. Since turning 18 (I'm 22 now) She's cooked a total of 5 or 6 times. My siblings are are 15 adn 13 officially fend for themselves in that area. My dad cooks when he can since he works really long hours.
I cook every single night and I love it.
