Should I also change my bank account numbers since my debit card expires in march? I'm goig to sell my desk top and get a $500 acer labtop off newegg...this computer will be totally deleted, its called a re install I believe? Today I got 2 pages of spam of the same exact email,weird..and messages in inbox now sometimes have flags on them and I didn't put them there...I mean dr.mercola articles or a reply to an email I sent someone, its weird. with all the online purchases, spam and no anti virus I thought I should start fresh everywhere...even delete my facebooks accociated with my hotmail unless I can change my email in account settings..anyway help and advice on this would be great

Most places with accounts understand that email addresses change, and have an option for changing them. On facebook I'm not sure you can change the email address you registered with, but all that means is that you sign in with that original email address, I know you can change which address you get notifications sent to.

Just go make yourself a new email address, change that address on all your other accounts, and call it a day. You don't need to change your bank account if your debit card expires next month, they send you a new one with a new expiration date, and you can always call your bank if you have any questions about that.

good idea..I have a bigstring.com account now. I will keep going through my old adress to get people's email adress and find what all acccounts I have associated with this email adress I haven't deleted anything in ages I still had a page of 2007 emails..WOW I got so lazy..I also have an old yahoo.com account I must do the same thing to...any emails I wish to save will be sent to my new adress I have like 3,00 emails in my hotmail and 1,000 somethin in the yahoo LOL

oh ya can you log into windows messenger without a windows live or hotmail account? I want to use my bigstring. I'm not ready to delete my old account for probly a few weeks. I'm even reading some old emails and I find myself going "oh ya forgot about that"

TV Guide? You can try TVGuide.com, it'll usually be able to list what channel is what and have a listing of what's playing at what time.

All accounts associated with an email address can be changed. I've in it in my clean-sweep life change process too. Bank accounts, Amazon, Facebook, Youtube, etc. can all be changed. Of course if you'd rather start completely over, just make sure you delete your old account to prevent multiple copies of yourself from floating around cyberspace.

Also, keep a secured list of what accounts you have where and associated with what screen name/email address and that way you have a little more control. I have a special password keeper in my phone that saves email addresses, screen names, passwords, and websites that I need to remember that can only be accessed by myself and in the event my phone is lost/stolen/broken, it can't be hacked into. If not on your phone, in a locked filling cabinet or safe would be fine too.

The transition isn't easy and there's a lot of details and moving over that has to be done but it's worth it to get away from spam, forget people you don't want to remember, and just start fresh! Good luck!!!

wow that was really helpful your post made me happy. I am also doing a "clean-sweep life change process" To start over I am sorting thorugh my yahoo and hotmail and will permanatly delete my accounts. all websites I have shopped at or signed up at I'm writing down...so far I'v already found 10...there could be 20 more for all I know I am also on some recipe sites and a few others I know but can't remember the name of the site....Getting away from the spam is the biggest thing for me and i have alot of accounts associated with my debit card...I could easily have suspicious activity happen on my debit card with this computer, its not secure and acts like it has viruses.

another random question..I didn't want to start a new post just to ask this...does fed ex come to the door or does it go to the mailbox where they give you a key and you open a separate box for packages?

I think it depends. If you open a service with FedEx, I think you can get the box signed for by them (if it needs to be signed for) and then you can pick it up with a key or something like that. Otherwise I think they just come right to the door. If something has to get signed for they should ring the doorbell, if nobody answers they'll usually leave a note that tells you where you can get your package picked up from. If it doesn't have to get signed for, they'll leave it on the porch usually. I'm not sure about apartments though.
