The threshold for being able to handle deep, very strong and uncontrollable emotions varies per person. My daughter and I were just talking about how everyone we know handles them in a completely different manner--except her and I.
We both handle them the exact same. Imagine how...emotional...we both were. Me with the dread that she did not learn form my mistakes and her for barely starting to be like Mom!! Just joking!! A few years ago this may have been partially true, but now we are thinking this may be one reason we are so close.
