I just wish there were a way to backorder, but meh. Maybe a way to delete threads, too. I am STILL getting comments on my handcuff comparison and it's been months since I ordered... Maybe point farmers would take the time to delete the threads that are 100% spam, too
Dare I ask? What DON'T you like about EF?

I am very indecisive and I really ask when I seriously want opinions. What pisses me off is that no one answers when I ask, but tons of people answer to the countless and repetitive threads of the same people, daily.
Maybe they can add organizing the threads to the Edentasks.

Basically what everyone else has said. The forum and review comment spamming is getting a bit ridiculous. It's annoying to get "" as a comment. At least try to say something! It's such obvious point farming. I understand "thanks" and whatnot, as I think a lot of people just don't necessarily have anything else to say about the review but want to leave something nice to the reviewer. But a smilie? Erg.
I also HATE coming to the forum and having to weed through pages of games or "Is this toy good?" to get to the solid stuff. Is it a good toy? Read some reviews. There are TONS. The games...I don't know. They bug me. I mean, it can be fun, but I think there should be a separate section for them. Or a way to filter them out. Something.
I also dislike the new product pages. It makes reviews that aren't super positive or super negative just fall into the background. Plus, the formula for what reviews get featured there is way off. A review with five "extremely useful" votes would be there, over a review with 30 "extremely useful" votes and one "useful." It makes not sense. Not to mention that it makes it really hard for us to search for products to review, since you have to go to the bottom of the review to see if it was free of charge or not. Sigh.
I love EF, and I really hate to complain. Most of the annoying stuff comes from people, not from EF itself. I do think there could also be some improvements to functionality and navigation, as Petite Valentine said. less

Some people have been kicked out of the EF community without any warning or notices, just BAM, an email and deactivated account. I don't know any of these people personally but that part of the EF system just irks me. Also, although the new product pages work in theory, it makes skimming quickly through reviews more tedious, especially when my internet connection is slow. Aside from that, I love the EF community, how the point system works and how easy it is to contact people. I am more motivated to explore the site and different products with the point system and, because of that, have purchased some items I usually wouldn't have found.
06/18/2011
My main problem is that the site is somewhat difficult to navigate. It's real work to find some of the things that I've heard about on the forums. The EF store is quite easy to browse through. It's the EF community stuff that can be difficult to navigate.
And I know it's selfish, but I really wanted to get that free pink and green bullet that was a promotion for "friending" EF on FaceBook. I tried and tried to figure out how to friend EF. Some of the links on EF's website took me to out of date pages and even the little like buttons didn't seem to work at first. I couldn't even find the REAL EdenFantasys page on FB when I searched using the FB search feature. (I found several old or fan-based pages.) I finally found the REAL EF FB page when I clicked on a link that was apparently updated correctly, and I THINK I finally managed to friend EF, but it was obviously too late to get the free vibe. I can't complain too much, though, because EF really is very generous with the points program, free gift with order, review program and all of that. I just got annoyed that I couldn't figure out how to friend EF. If they have a promotion like that, it should be easier to actually do what they are asking.

I have posted a which one should I get - ONCE. Yes I got points for that post, but I was still legitimately stuck on deciding between several (3 or 4) items even after reading the reviews. I found that the feedback I got helpful in making a purchasing decision. I have also read though some other what should I get posts and gathered helpful info to me. So IMO I do not think all "what should I get" posts are out of line.

ANY forum is going to have posts and questions repeated. I participate in a breastfeeding formum for new moms and we even have a FAQ posted at the top. However the same questions get asked over and over again. We give no points and people still start games. Does it annoy me, yes it does and has so for the past 6 years, but.......I am sure it will continue.

Being still a newbie I find it hard to see if a particular topic has been posted in the discussions. I will try to search for it but they are usually worded differently so I am never completely sure if the topic has been touched on yet or not. Due to that most of the time I wont start a discussion because I don't want to duplicate something

I have used this function twice. Once to find the bestest pocket rocket of all time, and one to help me choose which large storage unit to buy. The recommended rocket was amazing! I was grateful for the feedback, as they all look the same, but the motors are not the same.
I have not bought the storage unit, but due to the thread I started, I will probably buy the Devine Storage Case. But, I start very few threads, I usually also know who to take advice from when I do a comparative discussion.
But, yeah, a comparative that shows a silicone dildo, a rabbit, a pair of panties and some toy wash and asks "Which one is better?" drives me nuts.

i like almost everything, except for the occasional bout of rudeness that I see on reviews/ forums. i remember i asked a question in the wrong forum and i was addressed incredibly rudely. and i've seen members talk condescendingly to others simply because they may be new to toys and don't know about maintenance, appropriate lubes, etc.

I dislike the product pages/reviews for a few different reasons.
1) The most helpful positive and negative reviews is worthless. However you work the rating system for this spot, it doesn't work. Either all reviews should be listed on the product page in some fashion or the link should just go to the review page, and/or there should be a few random reviews on the first page that rotates every time the page is accessed. This way all reviews are treated equal and people have access to reviews that may have been passed over because they are 3 stars or because they are newer and don't have votes or little votes.
2) For scented or flavored (not necessary for color, but could be), I would like the reviews separated as it is hard to sort through 40 reviews of 5 flavors/scents to find if any of them describe the flavor/scent they reviewed on.
3) There is a mix of old style product pages and new style product pages. its confusing.
4) Products that have been updated or style changes do not have current product pictures and are misleading. (i.e. Naughtibod changed from Naughtinano)
Sometimes the search feature can be confusing, but its not as annoying to me as the above.

It may be possible that point farmers might have had that happen, but simply because they post a thread and 10 comments on a single thread to get all their points. But people who get deactivated and kicked out usually have been warned about their activity. People love to hate on a company when their egos are bruised.

You all have brought up good points about the forum and point farmers.
I have one thought about the new review showcasing algorithms, but it sounds like I should plunk that over in the community planning meeting thread...
About my only substantive dislike about the site, is that offsite links don't reveal their actual link. I like to, before clicking on an offsite link, hover my mouse over it to see the URL so I can decide whether I trust the site ... blindly clicking away can take you to sites that aren't trustworthy (I'm kind of virus-paranoid). And on EF, the onsite links have accurate hover-overs, but offsite links just show the URL of the page you're currently on. It bugs me a lot, because I usually have to not read reviews posted on blogs since I don't know where my click will take me. It's really bothersome in the forums, too.
I guess they do that for search engine optimization? But it makes the site less usable for me.

And I have to agree that what I love about EF far outweighs what annoys me. But one thing I don't think anyone's mentioned yet is just how confusing and difficult it is to find assignments. The "Product Search" isn't trustworthy. I'll request things it says are available and then get denied. It's just frustrating. Maybe a better assigning-requesting system? But I know that'd take quite a bit of time and programming work.
