With all the elections (city wide and the upcoming presidential elections) being here and right around the corner, I was wondering: How do YOU feel about our gov't officials?

Of course some are. There are dishonest people in every job field. I don't think it's fair to toss them all into a group and point fingers at ALL of them calling them liars, cheaters, ect.

I grew up in Illinois and the corruption in Chicago is so well known that it's the joke of the country - and for good reason. Not that there isn't plenty of corruption by people in the other political party (ex Gov. Ryan), but everyone knows who the Chicago Machine is run by.

The crooked ones get all the press - but my sense is that most are actually trying to do a good job.The problem is that after a while it's their best interest that counts - not that of those that elected them - that's why I'm an avid believer in term limits.

As for the govt...theres a lot of folks that I know Do do some good. The problem with it is that when you hear all about the bad ones, you rarely hear about any good that they do. I guess its not "news worthy". Which is unfortunate.
