Couldn't enter a strip club.

This is like my 60th post for today and it's only noon.... hahah For some reason, I keep thinking of topics.

Anyways, talking to a friends mom. She happens to be a lesbian. She and her friend(who is also a women)went to a strip club, and was not allowed to enter... The reason she wasn't allowed to enter was because they didn't have a man with them... They told her it could damage their clientele...

BULL MONKEY!

What do you think about that?

Thats what I thought. I think it was something else, but they couldn't say, so they told her that. I was thinking It could be how she was dressed.... I don't know, it's odd.. I'm coming to spend money LET ME IN! I think I would have raised holy heck.

That's ridiculous. I am guessing she "looked like a lesbian" and that's why they wouldn't let her in.

My husband, once in a great while (only when he's out of town) will go to a strip club. He says he's seen women in them. He doesn't speak with details, so I have no idea if they were with men. But, it sounds like she was judged on how she looked.

Even if she wasn't, why would they want to keep women out?

Maybe some resident strippers would let us know.

all the clubs around here are like that, too. people are always shocked when they find out. It's kind of bullshit, but I can kind of see it from a business standpoint. If there's a lot of women in the place, men may not buy rooms with the strippers, because why buy a room with a stripper, when you have women all around who you can talk to for free?

I... don't quite get it. I've been to strip clubs before (always accompanied by men, usually a group) and I don't think anybody but the friends accompanying me and the strippers even attempted to look in my direction, let alone interact with me. (The strippers often seem to be excited to get to show off with a girl from the audience, though, they seemed to get bigger tips that way.) But, apart from when I'd be up at the place where they were dancing, nobody's eyes were on me at all.

I kinda feel like it would be the same even if I went alone... why would you go to a strip club to look at somebody who's wearing clothes, when there are people all around with fewer clothes on?

Maybe I'm gonna have to go by myself one of these evenings and see what happens.

That's such a double standard! We, as women, can be stared at by men all night yet a group of us can't enter a strip club? UGH!

That isn't fair at all, so what if they are lesbians?! I'm sure those girls in there dancing will take ANYONE'S money. They are just hurting themselves by discriminating.

I doubt they would be able to sue. Most businesses have the right to "refuse service" to anyone.

That's stupid as hell, though.

I think it's stupid, but then, there's not really much that can be done about it. If it's the kind of place that would turn away customers for a reason like that (even if the reason was something else and they lied) it's probably not really a place that I'd want to go anyway. But then. There's plenty of alternatives in the city I live in.

I wouldn't want to go to a normal strip club anyway. I'd rather go see a drag show.

how stupid!
I'm sure a lot of the male clientele would allow it!!
