Just curious what everyone's opinion is on it. I went to Walmart earlier and couldn't even get a pack of buns, not to mention all the toilet paper was gone. Then I went to my local grocery store and all the hamburger meat was gone. Schools are all shutting down in some areas and events are being cancelled.

My opinion is we need to take some precautions with washing hands and being very careful for those who are vulnerable. Like the elderly or those with underlying diseases. I do think people are going a bit crazy and overboard though. I believe we need to take it seriously, but also remember this isn't the end of the world either. I'm just shocked by how empty grocery stores are and how crazy I see people acting.

Just use common sense. This is going to get worse before it improves, that is just how viral outbreaks work. Supply chains are being broken or slowed down. Demand is way up for staples. Have enough to supply yourself for at least a couple of weeks. Whether you think this is going to be a bad sickness or not people are going to hoard as much as they can because others are doing the same and they don't want to be left out. I am not sure what people are going to do with all that toilet paper . I rather have food if it is going to be in short supply.

I agree, I'd rather have the food also. The whole toilet paper shortage is just mind boggling to me. I guess they just won't have to buy toilet paper for a long time.

I'm happy that schools are shutting down. Mine has shut down and now all of my classes are online, I'm at my own home and couldn't be happier. It's CRAZY how people are buying toilet paper like they'll never make it again - what are they doing??? It's also crazy how hand sanitizer is also going out of stock...the CDC said that you should wash your hands first and use sanitizer if you can't!

One thing that also irks me is how people aren't taking this seriously. This is a literal pandemic and people are doing as they please instead of taking the proper precautions.
