Controversial billboard says to "Get Layed"

Valley Floor Covering decided to advertise with a billboard. The message: "Get Layed."

The owner of Valley Floor Covering was quoted, "I'm a carpet layer, I have been for almost 40 years," said Rich Adamaitis. "Obviously the sign doesn't use proper grammar, and there is a carpet behind it so I think people get it. And it's a lighthearted play on non-words, really. I certainly don't mean to offend anyone."

This billboard made the national news. Many people loved it, and many people hated it. I personally chuckled out loud, thinking it was damn clever. If I needed carpet, and I happen to live near Valley Floor Covering, that's who I'd be using.

I agree, it's funny and clever. I'd certainly use them if I was in the area!

I think it's amusing too. I'd definitely call them up if I lived in their area.

Considering the things we see on billboards all the time, this is mild & besides, it's clever & it worked! They got national coverage on it & probably a good bit of business. Just goes to show, it doesn't matter if they say good or bad things about the ad, as long as people are talking about it.

it's cute, it's not like those billboards off the highway that advertise strippers!!! now that is something you could get offended over, but play on words? Totally acceptable for all I feel

That's some of the mildest use of sexuality in advertising I have seen in several years.

I don't really think it's that clever... but it doesn't offend me at all. I hate the whole PC aspect of having language that everyone knows and uses, not being accessible.
