I mean all the scientific researches, and in some way indeed, it is just weird when anything is taken out of them, in the spiritual/moral sense... ^^

I think it is not cool to mess with any of that unless absolutely necessary, like to help solve a crime or the like.

R.I.P means leave the dead alone! Unless it would help to solve a crime as stated by SkyarrStarr

I have to agree leave them to rest, unless it is a criminal thing that would help solve a case.

Hey, if science can learn something from studying the Dead; I am all for it. I don't think it's against spiritual or morals to do so. There are things we learn from studying the Dead. Maybe it could be very beneficial to our world.

I think the scientific interest in opening up old tombs/graves far outweighs the original wishes of the deceased. I'm sure all those Egyptian mummies never expected to end up in a museum, but then they were expecting some sort of resurrection, rather than being left underground for thousands of years, and clearly that didn't happen. We've learnt, and are still learning, a great deal from these ancient remains.

Interestingly in the UK there has been a movement recently to start reburying old bone fragments from Stone/Bronze/Iron Age graves, which have been sitting in drawers in archives for years, but which no longer serve any scientific purpose. It doesn't bother me either way, but some people perceive it as "putting the dead back to rest."

I think there should be some sort of historical significance indicated before people just start digging up gravesites. But, we need to learn more about our history in order to understand our future. That's the one hand...and on the other history is merely gossip we hope to be true (spoken by someone famous whom I can't recall at the moment).

Oscar Wilde. I agree in a way... but not totally. I believe that the dead are all around us anyway. But I can't stand a grave robber. thats just sick...
