I have an HP, but I rather regret it due to issues (hard drive failure on the first day, motherboard failure a half-year later).

I've wanted to build my own for some time, but lack of funds + impracticality (I don't have a use for a desktop right now) means that this is going to stay a dream for some more years.

I have a sony vaio and an old 08 Dell laptop... I enjoy alienware but it's more geared for gaming ....

Idealistically you really can't top custom, so long as you know what you're doing when you construct it.

personally I go for whatever is cheapest nowadays! I always expect to have to replace it in a few years so I prefer to just save the money.
