So, we have a wall on our public profile page that includes a comments section. To be honest, it took me a few weeks before I even noticed this feature. I've seen people reply on their own wall, and I've seen people reply on the wall of the person that left a comment. So which is the right way?

Insightful breakdown of Wall Dildo:
Do you have wall posters?
Do you have any posters up in your room/house/apartment? What are they?
Face the wall or away from the wall?
If you're having sex on a bed and that bed is touching a wall, do you face the wall or face away from it. I prefer away from the wall with my feet...
Who is a Wall Banger or Bangs Walls?
I noticed some toys with suction cups are labeled as wall bangers..does that make you a wall banger or it means you can bang a wall because of the...
paywalls on newspapers
there's a debate with newspapers about online content. on the one hand, they need to make money and posting articles for free isn't the wisest...
What do you have for Wall Art?
What do you have on your walls to desplay as art? Posters, family/friend pictures, paintings ect.

One of favorite albums!!! Dude you rock.
I always reply on their wall so they will see it. When I leave a comment on someones wall I do not always go back and look to see if they respond, I imagine that others do the same.

But the album's good too.

I reply on the other person's wall.

Ditto! And I didn't know about it for weeks too and had to set an alert on my own profile to get emails for when I get new messages. I LOVE getting those updates but it becomes a bit annoying when the messages are one-word nothings. =/

I reply on that person's wall. Too bad it's not set up like Facebook, though, would make it easier.

It took my a little while to figure it out myself, but I always respond on the persons wall.

When I first started, I had no clue that when responding to someone's post on my wall, that that the response didn't go to their wall automatically. Now, it is a big "DUH!" So, yes, now, I post on their wall and not my own!
02/05/2011
I post on the other person's wall. It's like facebook essentially
02/05/2011
I write on their wall because I figure they're more likely to see it on their own page than stalking me and seeing my response on my page
02/05/2011
I used to reply on my wall, then got to thinking they probably never saw it, lol, so I started commenting back on their walls.
02/05/2011
I reply on their wall and would appreciate if people then replied on my wall. It's impossible to check the wall of each person I've responded to.
02/05/2011
As much as I'd like to, I just can't keep track of everybody I've responded to, and it's a lot easier to keep conversation going if I don't have to do keep track of who I'm talking to.
02/05/2011
I don't have real conversations there. Mostly just acknowledging followers or common courtesy and short friendly comments so I just type a reply on their wall.
02/05/2011
I'll admit that the first day I did respond to someone on my own wall, but then I figured out that my response wasn't linked to their post, and they'd probably never see it!
Also, the Pink Floyd reference makes me smile

I reply on their wall, but Pink Floyd is cool too.
02/05/2011
It's more logical to write back on their wall or else they won't get a message that says that someone wrote back.

I reply on the wall of the person that left the comment. I wish there was a way we could get a notification when people write on our walls because I hate when I forget to check and multiple people have written on my wall...

There is, up under your avatar on your profile page, there is a "Set alerts" tab. It has a little bell by it.

Generally I forget about the wall. Something with my email is messed up so I don't regularly get alerts. Instead of checking my wall I spend more time checking to see if people left comments on reviews.

I just realized that their was a section for comments on your wall... and now I feel like dumb! I have so many comments thanking me for following people... If you are one of those people and see this, I was not being rude, I honestly had no idea until now!!
02/06/2011
most people don't get notifications when you reply on your own wall, but they generally check their own wall. So if you want to make sure they read it, post it on their wall, but if you don't care and wanna keep the conversation all together on one wall, post on your own wall.
02/06/2011
I am not a Facebook person, so I really don't understand how the walls are supposed to be used. I comment on my own wall so it seems like a running commentary, but I probably shouldn't be doing that. Sometimes I will comment on their wall as well so it shows up there also.

You can also set up alerts for other contributors. Post on their wall, new reviews and even comments on their reviews.

Thanks. Now I actually understand the features and benefits of the wall. I knew it was there, but have not utilized it. I've just only received comments. Things like welcome to EF, etc.
