So, I've gotten a little more involved in EF than I thought I would. My screen name doesn't exactly give me any anonymity, and I was kind of thinking about changing it. Are there any reprocussions to this as far as things go with my reviewer rating, or any of that stuff? Will the places I've posted in the forums automatically change to my new username? How does that work?

Everything will change to your new name, no worries about that. But, you may want to give a heads up to the people who are following you.

What do you think is the best way to go about doing that? Could I temporarily add a (formerly mrsheatherreese) tag to my username?

You could. Or you could just use it as your byline at the top, or I guess it's called the slogan. Leave it up for as long as you'd like.

People change their SNs all the time around here and for various reasons. I think it's really awesome that Eden lets us have that room to play around in. Instead of having to scrap the entire account and start over.

I agree with Stormy. Just make sure everyone knows and you should be good!

I should point out that, while you can change your screen name, your contributor profile url will remain the same.

I've been thinking of changing my user name as well... not sure if I will though. I'm wondering though, is your avatar a pic of you? If you changed it it would probably give you more anonymity if that is what you are looking for rather than a name change because your avatar can be seen by everybody and anybody. It's probably easier to figure out who you are by your photo rather than a user name

Yes, it is me....lol. My name is Heather Reese, and almost everything I'm on, my username is mrsheatherreese, so anyone that knows me from anywhere else is going to know it's me anyways....lol. So there is no point in hiding behind a pic at this point. If I was to change my username, I would change the pic at that time.

I would think it would be a lot more troublesome?

That is basically the link to your profile, and if that changed everything that linked back to it (your icon on forums, reviews, product comments, etc) would all have to be changed.

I changed my name in the past three months after a hiatus from this site too. Anonymity is sort of important. I'm not sure it'll change your contributor ID but hopefully that can get changed too.

I have not changed my name, but I am happy with mine.
