Ladies, any suggestions on how to prevent chaffing of the inner thighs when wearing skirts and dresses?
Chaffing

This is the only thing that came to mind right off the bat. I hear that using powders, lotions or creams only helps to soothe the skin, not actually prevent chaffing. But if you wear something like this underneath, then there is no skin to skin contact therefore no chaffing!

Actually, you can use a few drops of silicone lube on the skin.. and they sell "runner's gel" (it's silicone based.. it's like thigh lube lol)

It sounds quite nasty, but you'd be surprised how many people use it. Last year, when I could afford to workout (I was trying to get healthier and such) I was actually putting lube on the balls of my feet most mornings!

Silicone lube is a pretty good solution, but I've found that things like powders actually do work quite well in the short term. the problem is that - especially when running - one tends to sweat, which pretty much renders the powder useless. I don't know anything about lotions or creams, though the statement that they only soothe instead of protect seems likely to me - I mean, they're made to dissolve into the skin. Deodorant does protect freshly-shaven underarms from chafing, though, so there might be some lotiony-type things that act the same way? Probably not just your everyday hand lotion, though. Baby powder would work well, though, or any other fine body-safe powder that you don't mind chucking in your purse to reapply.

Bandelettes are pretty cool too - they're like stay-up thigh highs without the nylons. I don't own a pair, but I have heard that they work pretty well. Plus they're way sexier than Spanx (which I do own a pair of and adore... as long as no one else can see them).

Monistat makes an anti-chafe gel powder that's supposed to be really good. I never tried it but it has really good reviews. And hey, everyone here at Eden knows great reviews count for something right?

This stuff stays slick for a while, bu isn't runny.

Wow glad I came across this post. I am going to have to look into these things. I never had my inner thighs rub together but they are starting to do it now and it is irritating. I can't stand it with a passion and I noticed chaffing. It does not happen all the time but when it does it sucks.
