Just heard about this on Philly D show.

I remember my dad having a cell phone that looked a little bit like that one when I was a kid. It was just a bit less bulky but otherwise pretty much the same. I laugh about it now and I'm sure it cost him a pretty penny (the phone I'm talking about that my dad had was only 20 years ago) but 4000$ would be nuts. Pretty cool though. Interesting post, Bignuf.

There is no way I would have paid that. Pretty interesting stuff though.

They've come such a long way!

Haha, no. I felt it was pricy to spend $50 on something basic

Iphone 5 is still expensive enough, lol.

Heck no I would not have paid that much. I never grab phones when they just come out. I always wait for the price to drop or it becomes free. I just now got my iPhone 4 a year ago. It took me a long time to switch to one.

The first cell phone I ever saw was back in 1991. I was astounded with it!

No, I would not pay that much for a mobile phone.

No, just would have used a payphone.

hell no. I have a problem w/ the cost of today's phones.

Oh man! I definitely wouldn't have been getting a cell phone then. I don't like paying more than $100 for a phone. I use MetroPCS for the no monthly contract, but still waited until my phone was on sale and had a rebate before I got it.
